Time to bump this sucker and sticky it, as we've done in the preceding two years. Per the original post:
For the last few years we've had sticky shopping link threads around the time of what's hilariouisly referred to as the holidays. This is--wait for it!--one of 'em. It's simply for places you've personally tried that have classy and unusual gifts, the kinds of things most people wouldn't find on their own.

And please remember, if you use this thread to advertise your business or anything that gives you a break, your Isle of Langerhans will be forcibly separated from the rest of your body. With a spoon. Thanks.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

or google: the The Vicktory Dogs Wine Collection

Gift only available from this wine company (at least firsthand). A wine that is for charity to help take care of the dogs that were bread to kill each other in a criminal act by an American football player gone bad.

So its not the only place to get wine of course. But maybe it would be special to a wine lover who is also charitable and a lover of dogs or animals.

Of course none of the proceeds go to the football player they go to the charity that has expenses to care for and rehabilitate the dogs.

Has a picture of one of the dogs along with a story with or on the bottle.

EDIT: I must clarify that this is not a non-profit wine company. But they do donate a percentage (presumably of the sale and I believe 10%) to the charity that houses the dogs. It is not a great bargain price in wine of course..but it is a unique gift. I'm suspect its not crappy wine either.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Etsy - Handmade products of every kind. And when I say every kind, I really mean it: clothing, jewellry, food, furniture, bath&beauty, supplies (for artists/crafters), toys, etc. Varied price range. Ideal place to find unique and out-of-the-ordinary gifts.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - unusual perfumes, "running the aesthetic gamut of magickal, pagan and mythological blends, Renaissance, Medieval and Victorian formulas, and horror / Gothic-themed scents". As I said, unusual. =)

Berkshire Record Outlet. If you're in the US or Canada, this is a remarkably cheap way of getting quality classical CDs, a few DVDs, and a few jazz and folk items. Prices are usually 1/3 or less of list, and they aren't just remaindered material, either. Good search facility, too.
