I need a little advice. I've been seeing some kind of rash on my head every time after I shave it while taking a shower. There is no skin flaking or anything, but I have all these red areas that take a few hours to subside. They seem to be more intense if I take longer showers. It doesn't look like razor burn at all, I'm pretty sure I'm being fairly gentle with my razor. Am I doing something wrong? I was under the impression I had been treating my head pretty well until a couple of weeks ago.
I completed the treatment I spoke about well over a month ago, so that can't be it. By the way, I thought about letting my hair grow afterwards but I've really come to like this, as some predicted.

Not quite sure but....Some of the hairs might be grown in, leading to red bumps. When you remove the tapered end of a hair, it sometimes gets stuck inside the follicle and grows through surrounding tissue leading to irritation and sometimes infection.
I know it is your head, but try gently exfoliating with an abrasive washcloth before shaving, and afterwards put a little antibiotic cream onto the affected areas.

No that's not the case. I've seen that happen to stubble on my chin sometimes, but never on my head. If I didn't know any better I'd say I'm building up an allergy to hot water.

I once had my head shaved involuntarily. An interesting experience, to be sure. I didn't particularly care for it, but when you enlist in the US military they don't offer you a choice in the matter. So off it went. The barbers in the reception station got a real kick out of it, too. "So, what do you want? A little off the sides?" they quipped as they worked your noggin over with these monster clippers attached to vacuum hoses.
It felt funny. I looked funny, too. The hat I had to wear while outdoors helped somewhat. Despite the initial shave-down, they did permit you to grow it back - within certain limits, of course. That I did, and had to move up a few notches on hat size.
I'll never shave my head until the following condition is met: 50% of my hair turns gray. When that happens, it's flat-top time. You know, the J. Jonah Jameson look.
Right now, it's still 100% ash brown. So for now, I'll keep the disheveled look.
