And I totally agree with Dragon Wench, even Edvin the Evil is too funny to be evil. It's hard to create an evil character without exaggeration (double g or not? :o ) in some way - too cruel/rude/brutal/stupid sometimes... and, well, "what makes Korgan evil?" "- need of an evil character in the game." :p
It's possible, though, to show evil action: Lehtinan's endorsement and use of the Copper Coronet for slavers and blood sports, for example. Or to show evil intent: Eldoth's willingness (in BG1) not to simply kidnap his sweetheart Aleena from her father, but to extort the latter, as well.

Edwin is an example of someone who demonstrates evil intentions and actions, while Viconia demonstrates evil intentions, but Korgan? Nothing. He's a far stretch from being a nice guy, but aside from his greed, which appears to be under control, he doesn't demonstrate to me, at least, any motivations or actions that are really bad enough to give him an "evil" label.

I think he's evil because Bioware needed a good tank for evil teams, and a way to avoid having too many strong tanks for a good/neutral party. Personally, I'd sooner have the company of Korgan than Anomen, any day. But then, on this I find myself in agreement with Mark Twain, who once noted, "heaven for climate, hell for company." ;)
