It's official: Regeneration DOES NOT stack!

This time I did pretty well-controled experiments, and repeated to make sure I measured right. I timed how many hit points are regenerated in a 60-second segment. (To test I also tried 120 and divided by two, but my results were always exactly the same). Here are my results.

Axe of the Unyielding +5, no other gear: 30HP/m

Axe of the Unyielding +5, Ring of Gaxx, Ring of Regeneration, Wong Fei Ioun Stone, Blackrazor in off-hand: 30HP/m

All the gear above without the axe: 20HP/m

Ring of Gaxx alone: 20HP/m

Blackrazor, Wong Fei Ioun Stone, Ring of Regeneration: 12HP/m

Blackrazor alone: 12HP/m

Ring of Regeneration alone: 10HP/m

Wong Fei Ioun Stone alone: 10HP/m

Ring of Regeneration plus Wong Fei Ioun Stone: 10HP/m

Inescapable conclusion: Regeneration effects DO NOT STACK. I know there have been some statements to the contrary in this forum but they are false.

(There is a small chance that they did stack in vanilla SoA, but they clearly don't in ToB.)

Conclusions: when you get regeneration gear, spread it out generously among your party members. There is no reason why someone with the Wong Fei Ioun Stone should also wear a Ring of Regeneration.

Even if you think there are better weapons out there, it's not a bad idea for someone who's hurt to carry the Axe of the Unyielding +5 in their off-hand while exploring. These test have increased my respect for the weapon.

@ Spork: Thanks for the thorough tests! I distinctly remember a thread only a couple of weeks back in which someone had built the most uber-regenerating character possible and claimed he could just stand around in a melee without being really worn down... Maybe ToB does change all this.

@ All: Valygar got it... He was very obstinate about going to the Sphere on his own, and said that I'd have to kill him to get him there.

Hey, if you say so! :D

I figured I would use the Rod of Resurrection on him after I got in (since I'm basically a nice guy), but his body dissolved into nothingness the moment I entered!

That's what you get for not cooperating!

I feel a distinct Alignment shift to Chaotic Neutral... Using the Lilarcor soundset doesn't do much to prevent that either. :D Everywhere I point & click it's: "Kill, kill, kill! Yeah, cool!".

Is it just me, or does everybody feel that Lilarcor could not possibly have any other Alignment than Chaotic Neutral? ;)

I think chaotic good....possibly becasue I am chaotic good and I too go around going kill, kill, kill...

and I don't think it was chaotic neutral, because of the goody goody factor, always wanta go after dragons and attack the nearest demon, so i think it was a not too bright chaotic good goody two shoes with pretensions of grandeur.
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

Spork, that is some Nobel prize level research! Thanks for taking the time to figure that stuff out and share it with everyone.

Hey, how did the boots of speed affect the speed of regeneration? It seems like it makes it go faster to me.

I'm definitely going to put the axe to work after reading your results!!!
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

regeneration should stack! that is so non-non-non-non-Heinus! I'm thinking about making a new post just for people who want to ***** about said lack of stacking.
