For ye metalheads :D

Manowar - Die for Metal
(for some reason the guy who posted this edited the song and used the CD track instead of the live performance.)

Saxon - Unleash the Beast

Rob Paravonian - Pachelbel Rant

The original classical piece, Pachalbel's Canon in D, is quite nice, but I do find all the usage of variations of the piece in pop music really annoying, so I understand his "sentiment" in this segment ;) , even though I don't play the cello myself. Good stand-up comedian, as he isn't just funny but also very musical.

The clip needed a few minutes to grow on me, but he was kinda funny at the end. When I was a kid I had this weird bad breath phobia during mass. There'd be anywhere between one and two hundred elderly people sitting behind me in church (my mother always sorta dragged us to the front rows - closer to the holiness I suppose). Two hundred elderlies with bad breath would all rise up and sing simultaneously, causing this gigantic wave front of stinky breath that would travel from the back all the way to the front of the church. I would usually try to hold my breath for a minute or two when the singing began, and then stealthily gasp for air while pretending to sing.

Hehe, that was interesting. Very Weird Al-like, but at the same time a tad different than usual. I didn't understood a single sentence of the lyrics, but I loved the dry humor of him just standing there, changing those flaps :D Nice ending too.

Here's one of my favourite Monty Python songs:

Monty Python - Every Sperm is Sacred

:D

Update: Here's the entire skit, with the dialogue around the song as well - Monty Python - Every Sperm is Sacred (full)

The signs had the lyrics on them, the whole things was done in palindromes. :) Do you like the Lumberjack song from Monty Python? I wonder if they have that on youtube.

Hee Hee :D
That has got to be my favourite scenes from the "Meaning of Life" !

And here is the complete version of The Lumberjack Song

An aside here, at one point in the midst of my history MA I was writing a paper on gender and class in British Columbia's logging communities during the 1940s.... I had to fight really hard to resist my urge to preface it with the lyrics of the Lumberjack Song.... :p

I've always been quite fond of this one too:

You mean, this one? :D

Monty Python - Lumberjack Song

I didn't knew the song yet, but thanks for introducing it to me. It's very funny. :)

By the way, I hadn't noticed that that Weird Al song is filled with palindromes! How embarassing... Watched it again, and I see it now, it's great! That weird Al, just never makes a normal song.

Re: Alas, DW was faster than me! Well, just watch the clip twice then ;)

That would have been awesome! What would your advisor/professor have done upon reading "suspenders and a bra"?

My advisor is a great guy, with a warped, somewhat cynical sense of humour ressembling my own. So I'm guessing he'd have laughed like Hell, and then suggested I give him another, more official, copy that he could distribute to my larger committee :D

Ah, thank goodness some people in academia have a sense of humor. Some of the people at my school are so .... dull and serious. Makes me sleepy.... :p

Am I the last person to have heard of the ChubbChubbs? Apparently this little short was released several years ago, but it is new to me. Come on down to the Ale-E-Inn and meet the ChubbChubbs.
