What I don't understand is that it's much easier and quite more enjoyable to see an argumentative internet-goer try to provoke people but nothing happens. Hypothetically, lets say I go to a forum and actually go out of my way to tick other people off; ranging from say incorrect grammar to 'always missing the point of my argument' to even using basic logic skills against an obvious moron to always come out on top. They don't realize that by feeding me with there responses to my provocation, they are not only going to lose, but they are going to be filled with a general loathing of me, which steams up inside them for about ten years, becomes a tumor and kills them of a stroke. But if they ignored me, if anytime I made a provocation and they responded with "Yeah, anyways, blah blah on topic stuff blah blah," then I'd just be making an ass of myself and he can just sit back and laugh it off.
And the real problem with that is, that's not too complex an idea. Simply ignoring me until I start to make a jackass of myself? That's actually a sound idea and would probably work. But they'd never get it. They never do for some reason, and I just don't understand how this works. They have so much capacity in there minds but BUTON MASHIG DA KEEBORED IZ SOOOOO MUCH MOR FUNS! LOLOLOL!
Oh, and for that last bit, to quote a friend who I don't remember his name but he is or was a member on gamebanshee "PEOPLE WHO USE THE CAPS LOCK ARE RETARDED. Good thing I used the shift key!"

 I am... just... trying... to envision how the loathing (something green and slimy
) stems up inside *them* (branching and sprouting) until it comes to fruition (tumor) and kills each host.
Come to think of it, the moderators' job might be hazardous to health as well. Some of them are pegging away for seven years... Only three years left.
All that asthma they complain of...

I think that loathing would cause problems. It is a difficult emotion to deal with. Some people are able to turn towards it and cope with it. Some people turn it outwards and it causes fights in their lives. Some people turn it inwards and blame themselves for feeling that emotion of loathing. That builds up depression. Not that I am a psychologist or something. I am speaking from purely my experience of loathing and mental processing not from my knowledge of psychology.

Still, people who get involved in arguments with others are generally less dangerous than those who keep it all inside.
Imagine trying to keep all that hate and anger vented up inside you, only to erupt in one big blow. Deadly.
Or if that doesn't happen those aforementioned feelings could also consume and ultimately destroy you.
So, I think most people see arguments online with others who they might never meet as a way to vent their feelings. If they do insult others in the process, they would still be safe from any thing which could potentially harm them physically or otherwise.

They are not safe from the natural repurussions of anger which is to harden their views and lose a light touch.
Expressing anger appropriately and inappropriately are two different stories. Just raging at people usually leads to further rounds of anger rather than extinguishing the feeling as you are alluding to. This energy is very negative and I believe it can even cause health problems.
There are appropriate ways to express anger and even techniques of diffusing it on your own. The techniques work to varying degrees depending on the type of person and the incident.
The worst part about anger is to reject that you have it. I agree. But dumping it on people doesn't really get rid of the anger. That is an illusion.

Oh, I beg to differ. There is one individual I know in RL who has caused my family and I considerable distress. I would
quite happily wrap my hands around his throat and slowly squeeze until he turned blue....
And believe me, that would go a long way in helping to process my anger............................until the police caught up with me at any rate..
Given that the above-mentioned person is not worth going to gaol for, I can only hope that karma will catch up with him one day.
Seriously...sure it is not healthy to express anger by negative raging, but it's pretty damn human.
When I can, I go work out, I'll take a long, hot bath, or I'll do some yoga.. but there are times when just letting loose is immensely therapeutic.
Of course, it needs to be said.. this is in Real Life. If I find myself becoming overly annoyed when I'm online I've learned to simply log out, it's really not worth getting overwrought during the course of an Internet argument in my view.
