Well, I just managed to complete it for the first time. Apart from the RIDICULOUS difficulty of the last few battles, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

NWN is so much more than just the campaign it comes with tho. I must admit I purchased it specifically to get into online role playing as tabletop D&D is a thing of the past round here.

I have no intention of buying NWN2 yet. I really need to get a bit more playing under my belt. Any suggestions of where to play online?

I 've just started playing for the second time. The first time I messed up and had little opportunity to play.

Now I've picked it up again, I'm trying to see it through.

I still play it regardless or completing it. I love the stories and such, especially how every henchman seems to have a different story too. I've been switch ing recently from Oblivion to Neverwinter... although I do favor Oblivion, Neverwinter is still one of the best games in my eyes.

I still play it from time to time even now in this year of 2008. I'm currently in the HotU module/expansion. The good thing about the game is that it's easy on modern systems, even on laptops. The graphix are a bit dated, but the character development tools are still very interesting to try out and explore.

NWN2 was and still is a bit of a nightmare to play because of its demanding graphix engine and tricky multiple character control tools. So even though NWN2 has better graphix, NWN1 is easier to work with and doesn't threaten to melt down your computer.

I for one still absolutly love this game. I still play it every night.

I've just got to my hands NWN Platinum Edition, and finished chapter 1 with a fighter 4/paladin 2-3/ Champion of Torm 2-3. But after getting to the caves i was kind of dissapointed (bored maybe?) with my char and started again with a wizard necromancer to make him the specialized class (pale something). He's currently wiz 4/pale 2.

Need help

I recently bought a copy of nwn platinum at a replay shop. It came without the startup codes! Does anyone know how to help me solve my problem? Ive played several rpgs and am looking forward to playing this one. Can anyone help me get the darn thing up & running?

might start again im just wondering if there are any good servers online still or is it still the cyber sexing bdsm vampires like it was a few years ago

I'll never stop playing NWN1, don't even care about nr 2.

I have had NWN for many years and it is still my all time favorite.

I admit that I got stuck in 'Frozen Hell' in single player - HotU - and didn't play for a long time. I still love it tho and am back to trying to get past the spot I got stuck in. Not having much luck with that, but will not install NWN 2 until I finish even tho I have people waiting for me to load NWN 2

I recently started playing NWN for the second time. First time I never made it past chapter 1 before I gave up on it (felt rather boring and slow). Now I'm determined to play it through (+ 2 expansions) before getting myself busy with NWN2. Since the case of NWN2 states that you see familiar locations and meet familiar ppl seen from NWN I thought I might as well play it the way it should be....

When I first got this game several years ago, I played it a bit, but became totally disgusted in how they butchered the D&D rules. I also did not like the solo aspect of the game and continuous (non-turn-based) nature of the game. Then, this month a friend was interested in playing a multiplayer game of NWN. I decided to give it another try.

So far, I tried to build my character around the butchered rules that I am now aware of. Just recently, I discovered more butchering of the rules that threw a little wrinkle in my build. I pretty well have to try to ignore the butchering of the D&D rules. I'm getting more into the plot/quests/etc. which are keeping me interested.

I just played a month or go since we're in the ****ty weather season.... and I love it.

Best Computer RPG I've ever played.

Absolutely. Perhaps not the best game, but definitely one of the closer D&D 3.0 implementations around. The NWN PRC project keeps me occupied from time to time. Some of the regular classes have been rewritten to be a lot closer to the PNP.

I'm running through HOTU now and am currently a bit red in the face. I just discovered the gear I lost to theft at the very start.

I...ah...forgot just how...thorough I had been going through the original campaign with the PC I transferred to HOTU.

Would anyone have a dozen bags of holding I could borrow?:laugh:

Still playing and having fun. Recently I ran all three campaigns because I am working on walkthrough for one site.
There's always something new to explore and experience in NWN. There are so many class-skill-feat combinations that I haven't used yet. So much to do and not so much time... oh life is brutal.

I Still Play

I started playing NWN in I think 2003 and still play. I never stopped. Right now I have an Arcane Archer in Morag's next-to-last room with Morag's chosen; a wizard just finishing up Mutamin's challenge; a sorcerer coming back from Pirates of the Sword Coast to take up his Level 10 status in Chapter 2; and a rogue specializing in traps, a monk, and a would-be dwarven defender waiting in line to go to Helm's Hold after Desther when some of these others clear out.

I have a character in each Act of NWN2 as well. I love both these games. But nothing can approach the charm of the original NWN.

If you have not played Pirates of the Sword Coast, this is the closest to that charm. A really fun and lovely game!

Playing the old games

I have Neverwinter Nights and still play it. I also play Pool of Radiance and Legends of the Dragoon. Most of you probably don't remember the last game. (Played on PS2). A very long game. Even if you play it every day, it will take you about 2 months to finish. At the very end, if you are not prepared, you WILL die. Have fun.

NWN was a great game in its time. I played the first campaign and second expansion through solo, and played for a little while on a PW sever which was highly populated (was before World of Warcraft came out) I purchased all the modules that came out, but never really played them, they were just neat to look at.

MMORPG's have killed any kind of solo RPG 3D enviroment for me. I just can't do it. I'm a long time veteren raider in Lord of the Rings Online and World of Warcraft. Once I got accustomed to the speed and social enviroment of those, I couldn't go back.

There is one exception, the 2D infinity engine games are superb, and for a solo experience they shred any game on the market today. BG2 & IWD all the way.

But that goes without saying on gamebanshee.com heh...
