Hard to believe, I know. I think of you more as "Paladin lying in the gutter, face down, who is rising slowly with the aid of empty bottle." So you're on your way back up. Congratulations!Nippy wrote:And me? Fallen Paladin?
And dare I ask? Was it BS who was responsible for your Fall?Nippy wrote: And me? Fallen Paladin? I already fell, I blame The DF's for that.![]()
Yes, but you've been doing that in August, too! Of course, I don't see any reason to avoid celebrations in August, but that just may be me.dragon wench wrote:well t'is the season for spirits! I can't see any reason to avoid merriness and general festivities!![]()
Indeed, but in August it's a different form of revelry. During the hot summer months, one must imbibe in delights such as nicely chilled Viogner, or perhaps a Gin and Tonic.fable wrote:Yes, but you've been doing that in August, too! Sangria, too. We make a good sangria, though it's been a while.dragon wench wrote:Indeed, but in August it's a different form of revelry. During the hot summer months, one must imbibe in delights such as nicely chilled Viogner, or perhaps a Gin and Tonic.
LOL! The traditional remedy for cold. These darker, colder days necessitate the appreciation of something like a spicy Shiraz, a Pinot Noir... or for really miserable evenings, lots of Scotch or fine Bourbon....![]()
Oh, I'm big on observing proper traditions. So this is the "Let's all get drunk for several weeks because of the holidays until they're over" one? It's, you know, a seasonal thing, and each season must be observed accordingly![]()
Ah yes, Sangria is great stuff. Though, I find it is one of those beverages where you need to be careful, especially if you are drinking in the heat.fable wrote:Sangria, too. We make a good sangria, though it's been a while.
LOL! The traditional remedy for cold.Of course, there's always a fireplace, or another human, you know.

That's part of the delight. You get something that tastes great, while knocking you flat on your ass. That accomplishes two great objectives simultaneously.dragon wench wrote:Ah yes, Sangria is great stuff. I have a pretty decent tolerance, but I notice Sangria if I go through too much.![]()
There's an obvious response that I'm going to pass up out of the kindness of my heart, and because I'm supposed to set an example for the younger set, here.Oh, we have a fireplace too. But red wine and spirits are equally suitable if one feels more inclined to solitary pursuits ;p![]()
Only if you can drink just enough to forget about them without making it obvious in their presence that they are forgotten. This is very difficult to manage. With my wife's folks coming for the holidays, I'm considering a variety of remedies, however.Well yes... Do recall that this is also the time when relatives often descend, generous quantities of alcohol can make the ordeal far less painful.![]()
The taste part is great, I just don't enjoy the being knocked flat out partfable wrote:That's part of the delight. You get something that tastes great, while knocking you flat on your ass. That accomplishes two great objectives simultaneously.

Oh, am I trying to kid.
Solitary pursuits? What, did you plan a night in with a bottle and a suitably sanitized glove?

Nonsense. My imagination is very healthy. Just look above.dragon wench wrote:...Fable you have an extremely unhealthy imagination...
Are wel allowed to take a vote on what activity you will pursue?I never implied anything of the sort, just you know.. A night with a good book, or a few hours writing in one's journal.![]()

If you find something short of out-and-out strangulation that works, please let me know.I figure the best remedies are those that knock the relatives out for a week straight, and they have no recollection of anything that happened once they revive![]()
When I read that reply I felt it got a bit eery. I had this running through my head!oozae wrote:Hello Fable.
It could have been worse... It could have been a hamster...Bloodstalker wrote:That's what Eery looks like?![]()
I ain;t even sure I want to know how you found that. Are the fallen paladin rumors true, and even more sickening than we thought?:speech:
Enlight me, how would have hamster done it worse?dragon wench wrote:It could have been worse... It could have been a hamster...:speech:
