i know what you mean pope. i had reached 2020 post, and had just reached LC

the message says temporerely down, so we might see it up again within this week (at least so i hope)
i wish we could get more info on this. the former mods could given it out, on the other boards..
its hard not to now....

i don't actually mind that sataus a lot, and remember that was diablo was saying a lot and pissed me off(well i got at lest 300 post in BGD and still in warlord)

and i don't think the finical problems is the main reason(could be a reason), cos this board is a lot smaller than BGD and can still live...

anyway, sob...sob... i farwell BGD but hope to c u back soon. and ppl pls e-mail them that at least the last thing we could do to save it

Yeah diablo was an @$$... He insulted Belgium! I showed him good, heh heh...

I got 1500 posts and I was still an Expert Dragonslayer! That should've been a Grandmaster! But I don't care about status that much anymore.

Nam is right. I've seen comments here and elsewhere proclaiming the end of BG's boards, but it's significant that he left himself an out in his phrasing, just in case he wants to restart 'em. I'm hoping he'll calm down, and do so. The great thing about the boards were simply the volume of messages they contained; you could turn away for 15 minutes, come back, and find plenty of new posts. It was extremely easy to get opinions about anything, as a result.

Hey, I know some of you. I share your pain.

Hey all,

I was rather disappointed at the closing, too. After I went through so much just to get a password - and there was great information.

I don't know about financial troubles, but I did watch the posts over the past few days. My guess for "why" is the entire brotherhood stuff. Someone started a new one (fighter/mage I think) and it really got out of hand. People were posting some pretty rough stuff (explicit cursing and all).

Frankly, I don't blame the person for shutting stuff down. Some people really needed to exercise restraint.

Frelic, a good deal of information is still there--it's just not in the message boards. And many people used the message boards because they were, frankly, lazy. They'd post stuff like:

Topic: PLEEZE!!!! HELP!!!!!!
Content: Wherz th Crom Far???!!!???

...And of course, somebody would tell them. But they could have used the Magic Items link on BG's BG2 page to get a complete list of all magic items, with their placement; or they might have done searches on the words "Crom Faeyr," and pulled up threads mentioning where it was, what perils to expect, etc.

I don't know much about the "brotherhood" stuff. I gather it was all talk, and pure steam. I hope it doesn't get out of hand here, because I've seen it starting up.

Hey, I hear you. I just know the last few brotherhood posts for the one really had someone letting loose - words that really should not be repeated - and no creative "*" were used to disguise stuff.

However, I have found gamebanshee to have more up to date information. Much of the basics were there, but it simply wasn't updated. Of course, that's a big job and I applaud any efforts that were made to begin with.

Nice to see civility on this side.

Ya, I think it's cause the use the same type of BB called Ultimate bullitin board. It's the best IMHO. By the way do you know the url for Elysium ?

I know that it is a sad thing that the BG Tavern had to close down. I don't know all the specifics, but it is always sad when message boards or sites have to close down.

I however feel that you are not giving GameBanshee enough credit. You have to realize that we have a lot smaller community than BG Tavern, but it is still a pretty active one.

I know that it is not your intention to be disrespectful of this site and this message board, but some of your posts could be seen that way.

I hope that all of you will like it here at GameBanshee even if it is not BG Tavern.
