Altar of Shadows

I think there may be a glitch in my game. I am in the chessroom trying to place the shadow stone on the altar-as the walkthrough says to do, but it also says there are supposed to be athena chessman by the gates....there are no chessman.

The altar is directly inside the room; it's not something that will take "trying" to do. Just walk up to it and place the stone on the altar. What you are supposed to be "trying" to do is get the weapon beyond the gate.

So put the stone on the altar, and see if the chessmen appear.

ok...maybe I didn't explain myself well enough. I am in the chessroom. I have 3 altar stones. I walk to the altar which is right inside the room. Nothing happens. I have clicked on the altar stones, I have clicked on the altar...Nothing happens...I am aware that I need the weapon beyond the gates in the rear of the room...but to get them I need to put the stone on the altar, which is the part I am having the problem with. I can't get my stones on the altar. I must be doing something totally wrong, but like I said, the stones won't go on the altar. And I thought the jumping part was hard.

Walk up to the altar. Press "shift".

Dungeon Lords has more than a few bugs associated with it. Maybe it's confused because you have three shadow crystals instead of just one, or maybe there's an order to the Shadow Ruins that I don't know about. Something to try is to return to the hub and then go to a different part of the ruins. Since you have three crystals, you haven't been to the Shadow Stones area yet. Maybe if you activate the other glyphs first and then return to the chessroom, something different will happen. Of course, if you do that then you'll have to repeat the jumping puzzle.

Well to boot this conversaion do you all know what I did when I got through
with shadow ruins the first time? I litterly jumped out of my chair and bashed my knees on my desk bruising them for almost a month. Only because I was so excited to have that hellish place done.

but now on to what I wanted to say. I'm a lvl 64 Elf and my name in the lobby is either BloodElf Or DEATHLORD it just depends on what I choose my name to be on what ever day.

so I wanted to say if you got C1.5 as your version and if I can join, host up
your game load your character and your saved spot and I'll help ya out on shadow ruins and even further if possible.

so if you got C1.5 and you can get on right now let me know. if not now then tell me when you can. but anyways I like helping people. it makes me feel good to help people. so yea as I said just let me know. I came here alot for the same questions i'v asked. but on the most part I got through alot on my own. (you could say I'm a gamefreak for playing nearly 693 games in 3 years)

heck my friends at school see me and ask me for help and I give them some things to try. so yea thats me if you need help again I say just let me know.

Hi, I need some help. I cant do the water jump in the shadow ruins. If I give you my saved game file could you complete the jump for me? Thanks

Unfortunetly I can't because idk how to take savefiles nore do I know how to send them. but if you got C1.5 and if you can meet in lobby I can meet you in game to help.

Yes I have CE 1.5 ver. I could host a multiplayer so you can help me. I haven't imported a charater from single to multiplayer in DL. Could you let me know how to go about setting this up? Thanks

I just went ahead and used the game editor to gain the relic of power in the S.R. area. I just don't have the desire to spend more than 2 hours trying to get through the water jumps. This game is fun...first time I had to cheat to complete an objective in this game. However, the mazes or whatever can be a bit tedious at times. I just want to finish the game. The combat is fun. I guess that's why I have been playing DL and want to complete the game.
