Have to put in my experience....
have never had enchant as major or minor...always just trained it up to repair my items and take advantage of the level up in intel... :)

current game have a female dark elf with red hair and blue facial tats...
backstory of being raised by Nords.... :)

Real life.....have had it pointed out that I must prefer blondes since my ex and all I've dated since have been blonde.... :D

Well you talked me into it Rein, I'm starting a new game, my new character is an Orc Paladin

Major: Block, Restoration, Long Blade, Heavy Armour and Marksman
Minor: Athletics, Acrobatics, Alteration, Mysticism and, tada, Enchant :D

Well I couldn't think of another skill to use, so I thought I'd give it another crack.

Using the following mods:

New NPC Replacer v3.5
Master Index
Fletcher
Seekers Faction
MultiMark
Herbalism Light
Better Bodies
Rhedds heads
Cult of the Clouds

And for the first time:

Galsiah's Character Development
Suran Archery Store
Mournhold Expanded

It's going to be tough ignoring all those chests in Balmora etc., and no Tomb Robbing, will I be able to resist the temptation?

In all the various installs I've had, I've only had one where the Mournhold Expanded didn't conflict...but I've always had lots and lots of mods....spent a weekend trying to find the one or ones that conflicted with it, either mod or texture pack, finally gave up on Expanded....but when I did have the one that worked it added quite a lot to Mournhold....recently dl'ed but haven't tried one that just expands the Great Bazaar area...
BTW a big thumbs up to the Multimark mod, makes a big difference in the game... :D

Well Galsiah's Character Development didn't last long, what a terrible mod!! First thing it did was steal attributes left right and centre, and that was with a new character!

It did the same thing with a fifth level character I tried out on, and to add insult to injury it more than tripled my level as well, gee thanks, just what I need, to be weakened and then have 16th level monsters beat up on me! I thought it was down to using an existing character, but no, same sort of thing happened with a brand new one.

Definitely not recommended, in fact I'd recommend that people avoid it like the plague.

Yay Galraen!

So glad you are willing to give it another go. I know the first thing i do when i get to Balmora is to raid all the crates in the town. I can usually find around 12 or so soul gems to get me started. Then I get soultrap from the transport lady restore fatigue/health from the temple. Once I find my game disc I need to download some mods. Never used any as I first started to play it on the xbox. I'll have to check some of the other threads to see which ones are good.

Well being a Paladin I have to forego raiding all the crates in Balmora and Vivec as I mentioned, I'm having to obtain my gems legitimately. Not too difficult, the lady in Tel Branora and the guy in Mournhold have plenty.

I checked out the Mournhold Docks and Resort in Mournhold expanded, and can see why Dragon Wench had to remove it due frame rate problems on her old PC, it's massive! Very well done, and well worth visiting. The only glitch was two people on the beach who were supposed to be sitting on the sand, but were hovering a couple of feet above it. Some of the animations are a bit strange too, but excellent overall.

Thanks for trying out Galsiah's mod for me! I was considering it as well, but was sceptical about it...

GawainBS wrote:I'm thinking about playing Morrowind again, but I have some questions.

First off: I'm trying to find the mod "Rhedd's Heads", but the site doesn't exist anymore, and nobody seems to host it. Does anybody know of a site that does? Or, if it isn't too big, could you send it to me?

Secondly: I'm going to build yet another Fighter/Mage type, this time more a Spellsword-type.

This is what I have in mind:

Specialisation: Magic.

Major:
Heavy or Medium Armour (Not sure yet, got any advice?)
Armorer
Alteration
Mysticism
Destruction

Minor:
Spear
Speechcraft
Restoration
Alchemy
No idea about the last skill... (Maybe Illusion? Or Security?)

So, my doubts: Heavy or Medium Armour? Is Spear a good choice? Is Destruction worth it? Which starsign would you recommend, besides The Atronach? (My current character has this already.)
Finally: Which Race? I can't choose between Red Guard, Nord or Breton.

Enchanting items can be done by NPCs as long as you're willing to pay, right? No "need" to master it yourself?

Thanks in advance!
im pretty good on morrowind so here is my opinion:
-spears are cool but have 2 flaws. one, theyre harder to find advancements for (very few shops hold spear weapons, but many might have swords) second, unless auto best attack is on, youre gonna need to move forward and backward alot, making them impracticle for indoor or mostly immoble fighting. keep in mind that spears are however very durable. still, i suggest longblade for versatility, availability and damge. i havent really used heavy ormedium armor since i normally go light. if you have tribunal, definatly go light armor for the awesome dark brotherhood armor. if not, base it off of, in the end, which skill is higher. destruction is definatly necessary for a fighter mage of any kind. be sure to pick your skills carefully though: try to get a smattering of all elements with 1 touch and 1 ranged for each. definatly choose either warrior (+10 damage) or the mage (1.5 magicka with no downsides). choose breton if you want mostly magic. if not, definatly go nordic. hope this helps :)

Spears are pretty much my favourite weapon. Longblade is planned for the next character, though.
I want Medium or Heavy Armour, because I've already played with Light Armour. BTW, isn't Glass Armour better than Brotherhood Armour?
I'll take the Destruction advice to heart, since everybody seems to think highly of it.

Thanks!

Glass is a lot better than DB armour, Snow Wolf armour is better as well if you have Bloodmoon.

Being thrusting weapons spears are actually better in narrow spaces than slashing weapons, and there are plenty available if you know were to shop. Obviously Long Blades are best, as they should be, apart from a self enchanted Ebony Staff of course.

I chose the easy way out: I check "Always use best attack". :p
