Something that you might want to consider: if you use a club or quarterstaff instead of a spear, you could cast Brambles, Shillelagh, and the like on it. Still, spears are my favourite weapon, so go for them. They don't get enough love in RPGs.
ill think of buying one if it doesnt weigh me down too much. and i agree: the spear is a powerful weapon, the weapon of choice in most cultures, and yet few people give it proper respect

,i have a level 17 druid who has taken mounted combat to the extreme !!
I have a rhino as my animal companion which i taught combat riding and now after many diplomacy checks to the blacksmith he also has full plate!!

What were the diplomacy checks for?
