BioWare made an announcement, the new MMO isn't KOTOR...thank God, if you ask me. MMO's just don't have the character development of standard games, and I don't play well with others heh.

That's just my 2 cents

Good - got a link?

If they were to make KOTOR an MMO, I would imagine it would be advertised to quite a new market of gamers. On quite a few forums I've seen limited support for the idea of having it as an MMO from KOTOR players. But K2 did come out quite a while ago now, so you can see that LA may think about "rebranding" it in that way for a wider appeal.

Now that "The Force Unleashed" is being released for Xbox 360 and such, what are the chances KOTOR 3 will be made?

I'm actually replaying KOTOR and after that KOTOR 2 on my 360 because no other game release for the 360 has had that much depth and enjoyment to it. The only other one so far to date is Mass Effect...no need to explain why. But in my mind, Mass Effect proves that a KOTOR 3 would be absolutely fantastic.

If they don't make a prequel or sequel to this series...it'll be the biggest shame.

Oh god no, a MMORPG... If it's going to be one, I'm not buying it. I personally hate MMORPG's because they take, in my experience, everything out of rolepaying and they seem to be more about smashing and killing everything that moves. Also, the 'must get to a higher level' aditude annoys me. I mean, a level 60 fighter, how can anyone take that serious?

Also, has Ea taken over the PC gaming industry?

Well if it's an MMO then calling it KOTOR III would be false advertising, which would be typical of EA.

If it's a single player game with options to go online outside of the main game, then I'll be interested still, but if it's MMO only, they will have lost yet another customer!

Essentially, yes. It drives me nuts that a company like Quantic Dream who produce imaginative, original compelling games can't get publishers or distributors for their work, while EA "rehash old titles badly so long as it's got a good soundtrack" have the monopoly.

I'd personally hate to see KOTOR as an MMORPG. But as I've said a few times, K2 is quite an old game now. You can imagine that a company like EA are going to want to maximise profit, which probably means appeal to a new audience takes precedence over satisfying us old-timers. Which sucks.
