Well, his name is on the publication, so....but it is weird. I know many researchers in different areas, everything from history of art to DNA-sequencing, and I've never heard anyone else use this method. I guess his prof is just some kind of controll freak who wants to write everything himself and think it's a waste of time of teach the PhD:s how to write their own articles since a majority of chemists go to the industry anyway. I actually discussed this with my brother in law earlier today, and both I and his girlfriend (who is also doing her PhD) critisised their system, but he think it's great, so...Originally posted by Georgi
Does it really count as being "published" if you don't write it yourself? That sounds weird to me...

Me and my 'rents went to Disney World in Florida back in '95 or '96. I don't remember it hurting as much afterwards, but we only spent three days there. One at Magic Kingdom, then a day of rest, then a day at Epcot Center. This time we spent four days at Disneyland with one day in the middle for rest. However, on that day, I met an online friend irl and we spent part of that day walking around a small portion of LA with him.Originally posted by C Elegans
Sounds like you had a great time I visited Disneyland in Florida when my husband lived there, and wise from previous experience of entertainment parks and such, I wore Nike's
I suppose the mini-skirt was maintenace to the entertainment
I don't know of any specific word for fear that things you sit or stand on are going to collapse, but I know it's a very common fear. My very first therapy patient actually had that kind of phobia, he was afraid that buildings he was in would suddenly collapse, especially high buildings like bridges or houses with many floors.

I don't remember seeing that, but I wouldn't have gone on it anyway. I was scared just going up in the Epcot ball and that thing moves rather slowly...Originally posted by C Elegans
We were only at Ecpot Center, mainly because my husband claimed that was the only place in Florida where one could have a decent cup of coffee (We Scandinavians usually think that the coffee is like dishwater in the UK and the US). The we walked around in the area and found some thing called "skycoaster" or something like that, a huge tower where you could make sort of a combined free fall and bungy jump from 300 f or so. That was great, although the people running the thing looked at me like we were crazy because I was the only one who didn't scream - I've done skydiving before
They are meant to scare people, but not to the point that they panic and start screaming to be to let off the ride, though, usually, if that's gonna happen to me, I'll be too scared to get on the ride in the first place. I'm not saying I have that phobia, though. Just that I might have it or something similar. At first I thought I might have a fear of heights, but when we went on a ride called "Soaring Over California" where you are in a chair about 10' above the ground in front of a giant screen and through visual effects and the effects of movement of your seat feel like you're flying in a chair over California, I wasn't scared at all, even though it was so realistic. *shrugs* I don't know what I'm afraid of, just that I'm afraid of something.I don't think you have that kind of phobia, all the things you describe are sort of meant to scare people, aren't they
He might consider hiring some nice looking waitresses too, don't he, huhuhuh...Originally posted by Georgi
