A drider is a very cool underdark creature that has a drow for a body but spiders legs. They finally get some recognition in a good game, Icewind Dale II. They are very well done.

Well thats correct, and I am just astounded....
A manticore is an ugly beast that shares many parts of different animals but primarily a lion a bird and a scorpion. They have not made a significance appearence in any big RPG that I know of, but are used in D&D.
