(correct me if I'm wrong"]
I believe you are thinking about Neocortex, not Cerebral cortex.
A lot of vertebrates have a cerebral cortex, since cerebral cortex is a very wide term. Very few has a wrinkled cerebral cortex though. Those species who have a wrinkled, or folded, cerebral cortex are also same species as have a
neocortex. The neocortex (it's called neo - new - because it's the part of the brain that has evolved most recently) consists of six different layers, whereas other types of cerebral cortex usually consists of 3-4 layers. The neocortex is the part of the brain that is necessary for complex cognitive skills. Humans, other primates, dolphins, whales and a few other species have a distinct neocortex. Non-mammals do not have a neocortex.

*giggles* I hate cars. Your car does not make your penis bigger, more attractive to women, cooler, look better, or anything else you might think. It is a tool, just like a screwdriver. Get over it.

@ Mr. BlandTalker: I love racing. Burn.
Your car does not make your penis bigger
It may or may not, depending on how fast it is.
I really don't care aboutstreet cars, especially these little rice burner things that everyone thinks are so cool.

Now, a Joe Gibbs tube chassis with a Sonny Leonard 632 and a shot of spray, that I can go for.

@ Chu, Umm, maybe you should learn how a woman works and stop playing with cars?

Seems this is more of an "I hate..." thread than a rant thread, but whatever.
1) I hate the general consensus that Canada and Canadians are just one long running joke. All the "aboot" nonsense; the "51st state" bull****; the idea that we're a country full of eskimaux, hippies, and peace-mongers; and the notion that we're simply at the disposal of America and Americans. You don't like what Bush is doing, so you're going to just up and immigrate here? The ****? The last time I checked, our border didn't have a sign facing the US that reads "DESERTERS WELCOME". Maybe we're not as rich as the US and don't have nearly the same level of military strength... but at least we aren't hated by half the globe (if not more). This isn't to suggest I dislike America or its people; just the attitude given the most voice by them with regard to my country and countrymen.
2) It really pisses me off when people unrelated to or uninvolved in a given problem jump onto the "Support the Cause" bandwagon. I'm all for helping out other people and all that good-karma stuff, but seriously, when (for an exaggerated, fictional example) a healthy heterosexual white upper-middle-class woman is the loudest voice speaking up for poor gay black male AIDS victims, it's a little ridiculous. Also, it bugs me that it's always, always the same stuff getting the attention: George Bush/American international affairs; gay/lesbian/bi/transgendered rights/marriage; and animal cruelty. It's like these are the liberal causes du jour. Aside from when Lance Armstrong got nut cancer, and during the Terry Fox run, I don't hear anything about cancer research anymore (unless you count the huge no-smoking campaign that's come up lately); AIDS is old news; I don't hear anything about diabetes except for commercials for new "pain-free" blood meters... and these are really serious issues that people can actually help DO something about, rather than pointless bitching like with the Bush stuff, or non-fatal things like whether two women with penises can get married or how to kindly and gently butcher cattle.
3) I DON'T ****ING CARE WHAT MOVIE STAR IS MARRYING WHICH POP SINGER. People Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, and all that crap drives me ****ing insane. People have nothing better to do than follow the life and times of people they only know through the fictional characters they play, or through music that they (by and large) didn't even write themselves? And no one finds that creepy? Forget about any issues of privacy and whatever: I agree that it's a hazard of the job when you're a celebrity. But what about just the simple fact that it's just plain weird to care at all about what they do? Does it affect you, at all, if movie hunk #434545554 is ****ing female socialite #6535654398? NO! NO IT DOES NOT! Get a ****ing life.
What the language please.
There is a rule against profanity and just because it is filtered out does not mean it is okay to post profanity.

I hate cars period. I'd get a bike if some of the distances I had to traverse weren't an hour-long drive away. My mom and I always made fun of the guys who had those kind of flashy sports cars; we called them SD cars, for small dicks, since that's who buys them.

Yeah, but I meant more that people were just typing a one or two line thing of "I hate this. It sucks."

No, I just do not like cars, and the only women who will like a guy for his car are worthless materialistic women who should be beaten with a hose and then strapped to a flaming car with it when the beating is done.
@ Chim, I make do with walking, my bike, or the bus system. It's cheaper, it's good exercise, better for the environment, and I can use my bike as a club if necessary.
@ Aramant, I really agree with points 2 and 3. I cannot stand the whole drooling over celebrity nonsense. Granted, I think some celebrities are hot, but whats to make them any more special than any rich hot women I see on the street? The fact they're in a movie/TV show?

Put me on a camera, you bet your ass drunken-me would sell!

Seriously, the usual reaction from women when that happens is:
"Oh God.. they're beating their chests again... *yawn*... I'm off to find somebody slightly higher up on the evolutionary scale"

The problem is I'm not entirely sure the ones I'm around feel the same way... You forget what it's like to be in your late teens

You might be right
Thing is, that sort of behaviour has never impressed me or any of my female friends. But, admittedly, I've never been drawn to that type of crowd
