Looking at the message on the piece of paper that Kron brought, Halgrath too had a bad feeling of what it might contains. Certainly something evil emanates from it. Perhaps many a brave adventurer has fallen to its allure.
"Kron, there is something very...wrong with this. I am not very familiar with such deity or gods with temptation for dark knowledge and power. Your guess, Wee Jas, has points to it. But might i suggest that this too could be Vecna, of whose evils and power has corrupted many."

Kron had another study of the deitys. "I think, that perhaps you are correct. Being the cleric, you would be more in touch with such spirits, and I would trust your judgement more than mine and I am more than willing to choose Vecna. With that, Kron pressed in the image of a hand, with two fingers outstreched, the rest bunched in, holding an eyeball. "Let's hope this works..."

"Thank you my friend, and i pray that we get this right. Let us be prepared for whatever outcome our action lead, whether for wise or folly". With that Halgrath whispered a silent prayer to Lathander for protection.

I just tried it and it seems fine to me. *shrugs*
It's SYM (Speak Your Mind), one of the other parts on GB.
----
The panel presses in easily under Kron's touch and with a small flash of light the lid to the chest flings open.
Inside is a Holy Symbol of Vecna, some dark masterwork robes and a masterwork mace. A pouch contains several gems and 350gp.
Other than that, you see a odd blue gem on it's own, the way the light reflects off its facets draws your eye and when you touch a blinding beam of light reaches out to envelop Kron and Halgrath sweeping from the right to the left. When the light subsides you find yourselves in a new area, one completely unlit, and you hear dark laughter fading in the distance.

As the laughter faded into the background, Halgrath found himself staring into a blanket of darkness. Cursing the fact that he isn't as able as the drow, who should be able to use his infravision, Halgrath reached into his backpack. Rummaging to find something to use, he finally pulled out his lamp.
"I didn't thought such gem can be a powerful magical instrument for Vecna. Have you any clue where we could be now, Kron? This darkness is blinding me" says Halgrath as he tries to lit up the lamp.

Lighting the lamp does dispel some of the nearby darkness and you're able to see more of your surrounding. A mouse squeaks and shys away from the sudden influx of light.
Looking around you you find yourself in a vault of worked rock and stone doors adorn the small circular room you find yourself in.

Frowning again, almost venemously "putrid drow doesnt know what hes messing with" he spat down on the floor, "My noble paladin," he said witha s much distatse as possible "where does your mind think we should go?" As anyone would have noticed, Kazar was extremely angry

"Why do the magical chests always have consequences. Nevertheless, we must proceed on. I have a strong feeling that we should head towards this door." Motioning towards a door, Kron moved forward. In actual fact, he had no feelings whatsoever, but it boosted moral when such statements where made. Without realising, Kron was going in a Northerly direction...
[not sure whether there is one, but you said post, so I did... if not northerly, just choose any direction

(North is fine.

Pushing the stone door with all your might, you are blinded by light. In front of you a narrow bridge leads further to the North over a pit of lava extending in every direction.

"What about retracing Sterwick's steps?"

"Yes, that could work assuming Sterwick remembers how to retrace his steps" Sesshomaru...had alot on his mind at the moment and feels like he hasnt got his mind 100 % on Sterwicks problems. He had is own things he had to do but didnt know where to begin. Well thats something he would have to hold off on then. Right now Sterwick and the group need him to be focused. Sesshomaru just hoped that his lack of focus would not be noticable...

"I'm not sure how sturdy that bridge is, so perhaps one of us should go first." Taking the lead, as he wanted to keep the facade of being confident, Kron began to walk across the bridge, reaching the otherside...

Glad to be out from the dim surrounding of the cave, Halgrath puts out the light from the lamp and followed Kron, who seems to be sure of where to go. Outside, it was suprising to see a very intimidating landscap. It looked hellish with the pit of lava extending to every direction.
Kron was already making his way on the bridge. The bridge seems sturdy enough to support the drow, so Halgrath wasted no time to worry about it and followed Kron who was almost to the other side. Halgrath doesn't mind the drow leading as he was sure Kron would be up to it.

Slightly Edited Map of the same place - Grey lines on the map show solid walls, I thought it was a bit easy to mix up the two when I looked at it earlier.
The area before you contains little in the way of walls so you can see quite a distance. The stone bridge proves stable for the most part, though it does occasionally crumble. At the other end of the bridge you find a small island on the lava with some stairs heading downwards.
Sess---
Sterwick turns to the big fighter, "It is true I remember little but perhaps with your aid I'll remember more, perhaps simply visiting places I have been before will help.
His gaze becoming distant, "I remember staying in an inn, just before visiting the inn where I met your group for the first time. Something was strange about this village, though I fail to remember what it was exactly, perhaps the inhabitants themselves..."

Stairs, they usually led somewhere, and if not, at least showed civilisation was here. "These stairs seem to go the right direction," Kron said, in an attempt to reassure Halgrath. With a backward glance to make sure he was following, Kron walked down the stairs, into the layer below.
I'm more than happy to wait for him, so don't be in any rush Rav.

Going down the wide spiral stone staircase, you find yourself in a giant, many pillared open space. In front of you is a dais and a winged and horned creature floats in front of it with its back turned to you.
The whole area is well-lit though you cannot see where the light is originating.

Kron stared in amazement. The creature was something he could not recognise, so he could not know if it was for good or evil. Knowing that it would more likely be evil if caught unaware, Kron made a noise to attract its attention, hoping for the best.

Halgrath too noticed the beast floating in front of them. Although he is not sure what Kron is up too, his right hand tighthens the grip on the light mace
(sorry i was away longer than planned guys...something came up)
