I had a cat that would attack on command before.

Yeah, definately don't like small dogs. German Shephards hate me for some reason too. Rotties and Pit Bulls I get along with though.

Anyways, going back to drinking to The Doors.

I love dogs, especially big dogs. I like Giant Shnauzers (sp? ) and Newfoundlands (sp?) in particular.

What? I'm not killing anybody!

It's just that hugging doesn't make sense.
Americans hug too much IMO.

However, I agree with you, it IS all CM's fault. I'm innocent :D

ik, why huggging doesnt make sense?

Its a sign of both respect and friendship, man, in my opinion, or at least I do that with respect and friendship in mind. Ok, CM is huggable by nature, but he doesnt count. :D

I quite enjoy being hugged my cute female friends here in America. I really don't see any problems with them wanting to hug me often. It's a sign of affection. If one of them went to hug me and I said "hugging doesn't make sense, you hug too much" I'd really piss her off. Girls and angry aren't fun together. :p

I'm from the barren Lands of Nether.
We don't hug that much. It's a sign of weakness when done too often.

Sometimes it is okay to hug though, but it takes more than 'just-knowing' someone.
I have the feeling that everytime two acquanted Americans meet, they hug.

Oh, and girls here don't expect to be hugged or anything.

As far as I feel, the girls I hug and my closest friends, whom I also hug, both like that and it helps to strenghten the friendship.

I'm half german half italian by decendancy (sp?) so while my mother will try to encourage us to hug and get close, my father is like away, more avoiding contact than anything. So what do I do to keep my dad closer? I hug him every now and then. Boy, its really something when you get back from work and you receive an unexpected hug from your father, for example...

I need to disagree with you, then, cause hugging seems to me like a sign of strenght, not weakness.

I agree, a lot of the girls around here, at least those I'd find worth my time appreciate a guy that isn't all macho and can be affectionate and caring once in a while. They've made it a point to let me know how much they appreciate the fact I don't push them away when they need a hug or a shoulder to cry on and how much they like that quality in a guy. Someone who isn't afraid to be caring and affectionate with them in public. They tend to look on guys who aren't like that as weak and insecure with their sexuality, I.E. homophobic. I could care less honestly, I'm affectionate by nature so I just do what I feel like doing anyways.

I'd completely agree with you on that one, Lou. To me, being able to hug someone is a sign of security in oneself, you know? Then again, I'm in America, and the vast majority of our population is over-prudeish, it feels like sometimes! ;) :p

*Hugs Ik* Warned for what??? ;) :D

I have a lot of guy friends, but they would all probably be embaressed if I hugged them. And one or two of them have girlfriends already, so it wouldn't be appropriete really for me to hug them.

But dude, at my school, we would get in trouble for doing that in school. There is a school rule against public display of affection- which includes hugging or holding hands. It's wierd, because I see people do exactly that, and do not get into trouble, yet this one time, a friend of mine was walking along with her bf, and he was about to fall. She grabbed his hand to keep him from falling, and at that moment, a teacher walked by, and gave them detention for it. Strange, huh?
