Meh. Ice boxes, freezers. Same thing. We just call them freezers here.
If they were the work of the Devil wouldn't they be...I don't know...hotter with burning and lava and stuff?
Nononono you completely misunderstand me. I was joking saying we weren't technically advanced, as such, we still had the ice boxes, literally. That's what used to be used about 60 years ago, ice in boxes. Of course we have freezers now, and that's what they are called.
Australia is practically America Down Under. They get they're TV scheules and everything else from the US.
[/quote"]
Well, while that is true, and our leader is in love with Bush, and they have a major influence, we are still different. Afterall, we call it tom-a-to, not tom-ato

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
What a relief! Australia isn't tecchnologically backward after all! Nor do they share an American word.

Thankyou very much for that hillarious article. I just pity that you wouldn't get some of the jokes, because you have to be an Aussie to get them (such as the drop bear, it was an ad for a rum company).
That's the one thing I object to, that people think we say 'chuck another shrimp on the barbie'. That was not said by an Australian, and I can prove it... over here we call them prawns.Other major exports include Paul Hogan, coon cheese, Tasmanian heroin, shrimp on the barbie, talking koala bears, Yarm, and of course VeeBee..Australian for beer.

Okay, try these too. I didn't really read through that first article, though these ones are also hilarious. If I can get away with posting the links.
