It was actually a lot of fun. I was rounding a corner at a good clip, and someone had apparently spilled a glass of water. My non-slip shoes haven't come in yet, so I've been working in sneakers. As I made my turn, my feet went out from under me, and I landed flat on my back. Right in front of the hot readhead waitress. She said "are you okay?" and I replied "hell yeah, I want to do that again, it was awesome!" as I picked myself up off the floor.

Well, I've got the hurting myself thing down at this new job. The shift before that one, I burned the unholy **** out of my index finger and thumb on my left hand when I grabbed the handle of a stainless steel pan that had apparently been right over the gas flame of the stove top. You know how when you grab something that's so hot, your hand or fingers just slide off it? Yeah. Also on the burning shift, I tore off half of my fingernail on the middle finger of my right hand when I kept myself from falling another time by grabbing the edge of a stainless steel table. My fingers wrapped under the edge, snagged, and... yeah. Blood.

A couple shifts before that, I wiped out in the dishwashing area and cut the outside knobby bone on the ankle of my right foot on a steel shelf. Honestly, I'm usually not very prone to accidents, but for some reason I'm Self-Destructor, God of Accidents at this new job.

I know how you feel. It's those moments when you finally realize that you haven't been made for real work - that's the reason I stick to PC-related work. There are no sharp edges.
I would kill myself within hours in your environment, Aramant...

I went face first over a set of wheelie bars at the track the other weekend. Tore up my knee something awful.
