Neither do wet tile floors and improper work shoes. For about a second and a half, I was airborne. Then I was floorborne.

It was actually a lot of fun. I was rounding a corner at a good clip, and someone had apparently spilled a glass of water. My non-slip shoes haven't come in yet, so I've been working in sneakers. As I made my turn, my feet went out from under me, and I landed flat on my back. Right in front of the hot readhead waitress. She said "are you okay?" and I replied "hell yeah, I want to do that again, it was awesome!" as I picked myself up off the floor.

Also, I took this from the GB Anatomy thread:
[quote="giles337]Current Crisis: Exams in a week.
Deep Thoughts: Zenos paradox is enough for me.[/quote"]
Your exam will be a bit more of a crisis if you don't spell it "Xeno's".

Edit: Nevermind, it IS "Zeno's"... my philosophy professor was apparently incompetent.

Well, I've got the hurting myself thing down at this new job. The shift before that one, I burned the unholy **** out of my index finger and thumb on my left hand when I grabbed the handle of a stainless steel pan that had apparently been right over the gas flame of the stove top. You know how when you grab something that's so hot, your hand or fingers just slide off it? Yeah. Also on the burning shift, I tore off half of my fingernail on the middle finger of my right hand when I kept myself from falling another time by grabbing the edge of a stainless steel table. My fingers wrapped under the edge, snagged, and... yeah. Blood.

A couple shifts before that, I wiped out in the dishwashing area and cut the outside knobby bone on the ankle of my right foot on a steel shelf. Honestly, I'm usually not very prone to accidents, but for some reason I'm Self-Destructor, God of Accidents at this new job.

I know how you feel. It's those moments when you finally realize that you haven't been made for real work - that's the reason I stick to PC-related work. There are no sharp edges. ;)
I would kill myself within hours in your environment, Aramant... :(

No worries,

Beldin

EDIT: BTW - that's a very - ah - interesting sig you have... :speech:

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love being a cook. Scars and pain included. The whole situation is just a blast. And yes, it is an interesting signature.

Ha! The only access to peanut butter I have at work is in the Thai curry sauce, and there are other ingredients in there that I imagine would be bad for my penis.

It's part of a longer bit of text. It continues as follows:

"And even if you are sure that your girlfriend is still at work, put the chain on the door anyway, so the landlord doesn't walk in on you to fix the faucet that's been leaking for a couple of weeks.

And please, don't ever use chunky."

Geez, Aramant. Sounds as if you have trouble finding someone to insure you. No one wants to insure someone who's as accident prone as you seem to be. We, however, at Vogel and Stein care about the working man. We'll insure you regardless of previous accident history. Call us today at 1-800-WESC-REW-YOU to get a free estimate.

Actually, I'm insured by Duey, Chetham, and Howe.
