Hello. Am I to gather that some people here have heard of Richard Thompson?
Yes indeed, I don't know that much about him but what I heard I liked very much (though that was an album of my brother's from the time that albums were still vinyl, no less... ).

*comes round*

It's just I have been mentioning people for about two weeks, all of whom are equally good, and all I have met is blank stares. Why is Richard Thompson different?

@ Lestat. Which album?

Why is Richard Thompson different?
Uhm, because my brother once bought an LP of him? ;) He's longer in the business? And what I heard from him was not that folky, so maybe broader appeal? And if I remember well he has/had a bit of a cultstatus.

I don't remember the album's name... we're speaking vinyl time, like over 15 years ago! Second half of the eighties I'd imagine.

Well I must not have been around when these questions were being asked because there are very few music artists I havent at least heard of. I mean that without any ego whatsoever because all I do with my time (not counting hanging out with friends) is read and listen to music; it's hard to have any pride in my sloth.

*still quite puzzled*

Anyway he was on top of his form tonight. :D Just him and Danny Thomson, but they seemed happier and more energetic than the last couple of times I've seen him. And he played stuff from every part of his career, right far as back as Fairport. It was wonderful :D

Hey, I can prove it to her quite easily, if you give us a few hours, a chocolate pie, and an empty room. ;) ;) ;) :D

Well dear God I hope it would but whatever, what you say is true (much to my chagrin).

As in the Fairport music festival Fiona? Were you there?

@ Chu You're going to compete with a chocolate pie for OS's attention? You are a very brave person :p . Have you met many women?

@ Tony. I don't actually know what you mean. Richard Thompson started out in a band called Fairport Convention. That's what I meant
