I know, I know. This was just based on the assumption that Erikkson carries on his miracles with England.

Juventus. Been a fan for many years. Too bad i don't get any games overhere in the U.S.

I follow Belenenses, which is a minor club in Portugal (actually the 4th in terms of successes and history in Portugal, but I'm sure many of you only know of Benfica, FC Porto, and Sporting), the local club in my quarter of Lisbon. In European competition I generally support Portuguese teams, but once they're out (which is pretty much a sure thing most years) I follow clubs for which Portuguese stars play. So right now that means Real Madrid, AC Milan, etc.

Re: Erikkson's England - yes England have alot to smile about right now, and good for them. But beware that Erikkson is like a good dictator. Once he leaves office, the administration falls apart. He ruined Benfica after winning them a couple titles and he did the same to Lazio. If he stays with the National Squad for the full 5 years, don't be surprised if the team's second language becomes Swedish.

Hey how about that Celtic victory? Good promotion of their northern product in the hopes of moving south wouldn't you say? Funny thing how both Man Utd & Celtic share sponsors & investors.

2) Avoiding relegation to the second division in 2001

1) Losing two cup finals in 1993

2) Earning relegation to the first division in 2000

3) Hillsborough/Bradford disasters and any hooliganism.

A bit of football trivia:

Eric Cantona originally came to the UK on trial at Hillsborough. I have a photo of him in a Wednesday shirt sitting on the bench. Trevor Francis obviously thought him not classy enough - let him go to Leeds United.

The mullet hair cut is when someone has a short spiky cut on the top and long curly/straight hair down the back. it was particularly fashionable during the 80's.

Chris Waddle??? Actually he was one of my favourite players for a long time as well....used to follow him a lot when he played in Marseille....and when he played in the nr.8 jersey for England....I can still remember his shot that hit the post when England played Germany in the 1990 World Cup, ohh and his "well-placed" penalty...haha...it's really kind of corny when you think about it....Chris Waddle as someones favourite player.....can't be for anything he did on the pitch in anyway....

@Karembeu - An Arsenal supporting friend of mine once called Chris Waddle a 10 minute man. I would have ten minutes of his occasional brilliance anytime over 90 minutes of some of today's overpaid and overrated 'stars'

Well you can't exactly blame Waddle for being overrated....hehe...not with that kind of "haircut"....still I guess he did a few decent runs down that left side throughout his career....

@Karembeu and Mr Sleep - he did more than a few runs down the left, more than a few good chips and loads of shimmies thrown in.

But then I am a Wednesday supporter.... When you have a little bit of class at Hillsborough - it does stand out!

@Mr Sleep: An amazing chip??? Chris Waddle??? He must have mis-hit the ball....that guy had two left-feet I tell you.... Still there was something about him that made him special, in a good way...don't really know what though...
I remember collecting those "panini" sticker-albums....nr.8 for England sure was special....
