"We should have a couple of fires lighten up to keep the animals away" I say upon hearing the wolf in the distance.

The caravan continues on its path towards Mainport, ... The howls of a lone wolf is heard in the distance.

(*1 this night is in reality a night of no moon)
Onid takes a look trying to break through the darkness ahead,

"We should prepare as usual. Where there is one wolf, we might end up seeing a whole pack."

As you focus your hearing on the sounds around you, you manage to hear soft footsteps, seemingly coming from outside the camp. Meliss nods, "we should at least keep the campfire alive, but today has been a long day as well, see you guys tomorrow" as he rises and walks away, the merchant who have been silent up until now, as normal speaks out "I advise you all to keep watch, seems like a bad chase with a corrupting moon up and all that" before he himself goes to get sleep.

Onid hears the sounds, but can't see any silhouettes in the thick dark, his hand slowly draws near the sword,

"Anyone sees anything? We should be prepared, I think I am hearing something that lurks close to us."

"It is basic animal instinct to avoid fire, thats why I suggested we should keep a couple of fires on, your choice"

I keep myself ready for battle and stay on guard for the first shift.

On numerous occasions you see wolves in the outskirts of your view, they seem to be circling the camp. If you wake your comrades you find that when you look up again the wolves have moved further away. They seemingly want to keep distance.

Grabbing a few heavy rocks (11-15 lbs each and 2 or 3 will be fine and if I have to carry them up individually that's okay too), I fly up and rest on a high branch (60-80ft high, the average pine tree is 80-110 feet high just FYI) in a nearby tree, keeping an eye out for what the wolves do.

If any of them come near my tree sniffing around, I take a rock, fly up to about 100 feet off the ground, and drop it on its head-

Falling damage based on Velocity and Size-

50ft minimum to deal damage. 1D6 per 10 foot increment, 100ft up - 50ft minimum is 50ft, 5D6 damage per rock.

As activity rises in the camp, the wolves seem to retreat away from you. For those of you who have experience with wild animals this is very unusual behavior, even for wolves.

As you look to the other side of the camp, nothing that could have scared the wolves becomes obvious to your eye.

Everyone
The stink of death and decay suddenly strikes your noses, a wolf howls as if it has been stricken in the night. Then, no sound is audible, for several seconds all you can hear is yourselves.

All three of you manage to detect that the source is coming from the lead wagon. Eimia sense a magical presence from there, although lingering. Kolgar manage to remember a recitation about the messengers of the evil gods, bringing with them an aura of carnage, described pretty much like this. Kuu'shar manage to see trough one of the tears in the cloth of the wagon, a hand with gray scarred flesh touching down.

(meaning someone is standing inside the wagon touching down on something, either an item or the like.)

I look around trying to see where Meliss is and if I spot him,

"Meliss, what in the world are we carrying in that wagon? Explain yourself!"
