Will Save Fail and Fail. You feel your life force literally being drained right out of you and replaced by a big black emptiness pouring over your being. You take 12 points of damage and are Shaken.
Thankfully though you finally manage to hit him and deal a substantial amount of damage. As you cleave his left shoulder, there is now an open gap in between his shoulder blade and arm, literally making the arm flail and dangle about. The pain does not seem to affect him, but you know for a fact that he's severely wounded.
~The Warlock is now flustered it seems. "I...I will NOT lose my creation in my death!!! You will succumb to my flamboyant defiling or I will murder your mothers and rape your fathers!!!"
In a last ditch effort, he casts one more spell and a darkness floods the wine cellar and begins running off. Everyone gains a 20% miss chance from concealment.
@Nordak and Gu'Dan- Make attacks of opportunities for me and remember to include the 20% miss chance. Roll a D100 on the SRD and anything 20 and below misses.

@Mal- I'm not sure why you included two sets of AOO's but only one counts. Thankfully, it's irellevant.
@Gu'Dan-
Your powerful fists make the final blow, knocking the already dead corpse over and ending the powerful threat to you five. You no longer seem to be shaky, or have any debilitating effects present on you other than ones gained from other sources than the Warlock.
@Everyone-
You are free to do as you wish now.

"We better get the hell outa here quick. Lets see about this man.", Jeronis croaks his shoulder wrenched from the skeleton and his face looks spiritually 'thin' from the devastating warlock's draining attack.
Nonetheless the halfling creeps to the area of the man and performs a search check around that area. Also a listen check if that can be coincident with a search.
Search d20 + 7 = 17 + 7 = 24
Listen d20 + 9 = 13 + 9 = 22

Nordak looks relieved when he was finally able to put away his greataxe and smiling with all his teeth he pats Gu'dan on the back,@Everyone-

Nicely done master dwarf. You surely pulled some impressive stunts on him! I believe I owe you a pint of ale right now.
Nordak throws a hasty look at his wounds. He shake his head seeing that the wounds were looking pretty bad and later they might need some patching. Deciding to ignore them at this moment, Nordak checked around to see how everyone was doing and waved at Allexa in the back,
Glad you were able to join us dear. What is going on upstairs? What are Sundown and Sinead doing? I just hope he won't decide to pay us a visit right now.
His attention briefly turns to the Midnight Owl,
Are you okay sir? Why are you tied up here and who tortured you? Do you know if it is safe to come and untie you or there are some traps around here?

OOC: I believe taking 20 consumes a fair amount of time? Sundown may have heard the battle through the walls even Of course if there is a trap it might kill us ... anyhow I'd like to get a chance to speak and take various actions if we do wait for a take 20.

@Jeronis-
You don't find anything relevant as you aren't really sure how the device works. You do note that as you try and put your hand near the device, your fingers immediately feel abnormally heavy.Search d20 + 7 = 17 + 7 = 24
Listen d20 + 9 = 13 + 9 = 22
Not just heavy that it only mildly harder to hold up, but heavy in that if you didn't snatch your fingers away, the weight of your fingers under the device would have pulled your entire body down to the ground.
You do hear some VERY heavy, labored breathing.
The man is definitely not conscious at all either.

"This object is dangerous", Jeronis turns addressing the group. "gravity field". He takes a serious expression, "Do you suppose something good would happen if you hit it with your axe?"

Allexa groaned, rubbing her aching head and setting her bow back in it's place. "How should I know who's doing what upstairs?" She groans, glaring at Nordak. "If you're so concerned about Snider, or whoever, you should go up and check yourself."

"Oh sure!" she says, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Hit it with an axe, that's smart. Why don't we all dunk our genitals in a corrosive acid while we're at it?"

"ho ho nicely done you beared friend of mine" Shile puff happily and walks toward the now completely dead warlock. While the others speak, Shile takes the opportunity to kick the corpse and then kneels down next to it, "I wonder if it has anything on him"
Shile searches the corpse, for loot or any distinguishable feature (Tattoos and such)
I take a d20 for search.
Shile snaps out eventually of her fixation with the corpse and walks closer toward the gravity device, she takes a moment to work out the kinks and details of the magical gravity field it produces and thinks for possible ways to deactivate the machine device without breaking it.
Knowledge Arcana d20+5= 12+5=17
EDIT: Knowledge Planes d20+5=7+5 = 12

You notice the Warlock has a mithral chain, a cloak, and three pearls.
Knowledge Arcana and Planes Fail-
Unfortunately, you've never really heard of such a device, or even a type of magic that works like this. You know of spells that mess with the effects of gravity but none like this.

To Allexa:
"as tempting as that sounds to dip my genitals I have to say that we have risked a lot already and it would be a shame only to come up short."
To the group:
"If it exists it can be broken. This is true of every object in the world nay the planes as far as I know. Even the gods were broken and while Nordak is far from a Titan he has got a big ****in axe!"
"Besides this guy looks important, he must be. Maybe he can reward us", Jeronis says winking and smiling, "hows that wet your fancy?"

OOC: A note for the DM and the players - Nordak has active the Senses Draconic Aura which gives +1 to his Listen/Spot/Initiative and to those of the fellow party members in 30 feet around him so this can and should be taken into account when rolling the dices.
Nordak shakes his head in disbelief hearing Allexa speak, though he decides to ignore her outburst for now. She probably just needs some rest and maybe regain her sanity back. Meanwhile his attention is draw by Jeronis and the gravity device,
I don't feel too well right now as to risk a full contact with this device, but maybe Midnight Owl can be dragged out of its field if we combine our strength. Otherwise surely this can be stopped somehow, just that we can't figure this out yet.
Nordak picks a rock from the ground and throws it in the glowing device first time directly and the second time trying to hit it from above,
I wonder how big is the influence of this field? What are its limits ...
Methodically, he tries to determine the area of influence of the gravity field.

EDIT: Maybe a more detailed description of the room and the object itself would help. As Claudius pointed out we have no idea if this levitates or it is attached to the ceiling and if the the gravity field is pointed down or around it (which should be very easy to determine I think). How far someone should enter the field before reaching for Midnight Owl? If I enter a finger inside the field can I move it (as in crawling)? Could we make a human chain and drag him out of it?

"Who wants the mithril shirt!" She says happily to everyone in the group, completely fine with robbing a dead corpse.
"If you want to test the gravity field you could throw a couple of those wine bottles over there" Shile points out at the racks containing alcohol.

Smooth waxed stone floors an walls, diamond shaped wooden shelves, a couple of light fixtures on the walls, fairly dank and humid, etc etc.
You all do notice that the cone shaped device is attached to the ceiling. The attachment is invisible though, you don't see any bolts or screws or anything, so you are unsure of how it's being held up there.
On the battlemap, the pink circle is the area with the cone.
Jeronis might be able to squeeze through the side areas to get behind the pink circle if desired.
