You'd be better looking it up somewhere, but Sikhim is a religion founded somewhere around India. I'm unable to recall a lot of what their religion was about, but the main thing I remember is that they were opposed to harming living creatures totally. Whether it be a cat, or a human or an earthworm, they were opposed to it.
I think this lead to problems with farming and such among those who followed this religion, at least that's what I was taught in school. Digging and plowing fields could kill insects and such, so they abandoned the practice or something like that. My teachers could have been wrong though, they were incompetant and made things up when I questioned them on things.

"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"

Sikhism. It's a very popular religion is some areas of the Indian subcontinent. In the past, there has been a movement to create a separate Sikh homeland--largely due to the legendary heavyhandedness of the Indian security forces--but for the movement, that has moved to a low flame.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
