Sorry about my posting delay...I should be able to speed up now.
The winged creature turns arounds at the sudden sound. He's slightly taller than you two are, you notice horns and a trident that the creature is carrying. If not for the red skin, he'd look...relatively human. On the dais behind him is some sort of sacrifice, but it's too dark and far away to tell what it is.
In a booming voice, "So you are the ones here at Vecna's sufferance. You would do well to heed his wisdom in bringing you here...and avoid the denizens of the darkness. HE brought you here to warn you...there is more afoot than you can know. More than I am permitted to tell...if I even wished to. I have, however, been watching your progress. Most amusing."
So Vecna does have something to do with both of them ending up in that mysterious place after all. The strange creature seems like an intelligent being and might not be a threat unless provoked.
Deducing that both of them are dealing with something from the arcane realm, Halgrath turns to look at Kron. Perhaps his knowledge in arcane magic might help them to get some information as how to escape or how to understand the cryptic warning message from Vecna.
"Greetings, oh noble being. May I please ask for some guidance or counsel. My companion and I succeeded at the chest, however we are unsure of where we are. I ask this, as I do not look forward to the idea of eternity in these walls."
Kron's mind had drawn a complete blank. He had no idea what this creature was, nor what its purpose would be. He did know however that such beings were more likely to respond favourably if you remained polite. Shuffling nervously, Kron hoped he was right.

The creature glares at the two of you for a few seconds before speaking again."You are in a place beyond your comprehension, mortal. Many who arrive here, do not return from whence they came. Either they are cut down where, decorate dais" he gestures vaguely behind him, where such an object stands "or wander these halls before dying for various reasons...
However, you two are in luck, for there is something that I require and I am even willing to overlook being called noble", he spits "to get it. Such a task would require utmost discretion..."
Being just some pawns performing various tasks for a creature not familiar to them isn't what Halgrath have in mind for an adventure. He was getting rather annoyed at their situation.
"So, this 'utmost discretion' in this task...what does it mean? What do you offer us in return?"
The creature laughs at you, "I offer you your lives and perhaps a way ut of this world. Nothing more, nothing less.
As for the utmost discretion, why, you cannot reveal this task to another living...or unliving creature".
"Damn this", Halgrath cursing to himself. He glanced at Kron but the drow seems to be thinking of something...or maybe just keeping his silence.
"So, what is this task that you require from us?"Perhaps the creature would keep its end of the bargain and grant them a passage out. But then, there seems to be no other way for now.....
" Ah, so this Inn your were at Sterwick is it far from here? We will have to retrace your steps hoping that with each step we take to arrive at the destination of your misfortunate event that we start to uncover little bits of your memory. Perhaps revisiting each place may jog your memory a bit. " Sesshoumaru was hoping that Sterwick would gain some more of his memory if they revisited every place he had gone before running into the group.
Wondering how vampires live the life they live.....
seriously I dont know how they sleep during the day, I have a twitch everytime I hear a loud sound as I slumber, everytime ....Im just waiting to pounce on the poor mortal who creates a sound while I sleep in during the day. /rant
"I need you two to recover an object similar to the one that brought you here in the first place. It looks like this", the creature withdraws a red, transparent prism from the folds of its cloak (one specially designed to accomodate its wings). "It looks much like an ordinary gem, but it has far greater value to know who truly understand such things.
If you agree to this, I will teleport to the vicinity of the real gem, though I shall not be joining you, do not think you can escape. I will be whisking you back after a certain amount of time has passed and I shall be most displeased if you do not have it for me upon your return."
Sess--- "Well, it's not too far. It's on the opposite side of the city from where we first met.
And I hope that you are right. I hate to be kept in the dark on my own past..."
Glancing at Halgrath, who had run the conversation so far, Kron was calculating the options. They could not kill this beast, and chances are, they might not be able to leave it peacefully. On the other hand, they probably could not trust the beast, and it would kill them once they had retrieved the object, but at least this way, death was prolonged. Nodding to Halgrath, Kron waited to see his decision, preferring not to talk to the beast.

Seeing Kron nodding towards him, perhaps the drow has thought of something but would rather discuss it away from the beast. Anyway, at that rate anything seems better than standing in front of that strange creature.
"Excellent".
The creature then proceeds to make a series of magical getures resulting in a bright flash of light.
When the light subsides, you find yourself...elsewhere.
You're outside a small village on what looks much like the world you originally left, in fact, it may be the same world. All the usual flora and fauna are there and the sky is blue...
The sight that greeted them was a much needed change from the darkness and eeriness of the cave, at least to Halgrath. Looking around, it seems they were back outside near their campsite.
"Kron, it seems we are....outside again. But is there really any gem here to begin with?"
" Then we're on our way, I wonder if we should wait for the others to get back " Sesshomaru wasnt sure if he should wait for them or leave them some kind of note telling them where they where heading.

"I suppose our best goal would be to establish where... or possibly when, we are. I think we should head towards the village, and seek information there."
Kron knew that the creature could have done anything. He only hoped that it was not expecting the gem in hurry.

"I still have my doubts of this gem issue Kron, but what you say is true. There is nothing to be gained standing idle here" Halgrath packs whatever gear he still have with him and waited for Kron to lead the way.
"I wonder what might have happened to our companions. Perhaps they have made progress with Sterwick?"
I'll wait for you two to make your next move, but I'll provide a little more information on your surroundings and if I get round to it, possibly a map too.
To your east is a dark impenetrable looking forest, it stretches as far as you can see, though considering the trees are mostly above your height, it's hard to see far in that direction. A well worn path snakes out from between the trees under your feet and towards the west. To the west is mainly grassland and rolling hills, punctuated by the odd lake and the path that soon disappears beyond your view. To the south and south east, there is a great lake with an island at the centre. The water seems impassable unless you were able to acquire transport of some kind. That leaves the nearby village to the north. You can see smoke billowing out of a few chimneys and the odd guard emplacement, though the village isn't surrounded by a wall.
An icy blast of wind buffets you as if suggesting you should seek out shelter from the elements...
@Sess---
Sh'rarn replies, "I don't know, maybe it would be best to keep Kron and Kazar separate for now, to avoid further clashes between them. I'm sure they can handle whatever faces them though...
We can leave a message with the dwarves at the camp, to alert them of our whereabouts if required".
Kron shouldered his bag, and began leading the way to the village. As they approached, Kron fell back. "Halgrath, I am a Drow. I do not know these people, but I could easily be killed on site, and it would ruin our chances. As such, I will stay out here, and you can find me again out here, once you find out whether I should remain outside town, or if there is a safe, secure way in."
He did not wish to stay out here, but he did not wish to be cooked on the spit either, so staying outside of town was the best option. Kron just hoped he could enter eventually.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
"My apologies, Kron. Your 'heritage' has escaped my attention. Very well then, I will try to look up some information and perhaps seek out a place to shelter for both of us. You should stay out of sight here then until the situation is favorable for you"
Perhaps feeling a bit guilty, Halgrath walk up the path that leads to the village without looking back. The nearest building which appears as a sentry post is just a few yards away. Someone would have noticed him by now...
A guard attired in chain mail, wielding a long blade and a large shield with an unfamiliar crest emblazoned on it, runs out from behind the sentry post. "Hold, stranger! I have not seen you before. What is your business in these parts?"
