The Pope did not have money... well, at least, he told so to the Venetian and the English ambassadors. That was just a year after the Sack of Rome, so he wasn't in Rome... I think.

The Pope first left to the Castle of Sant Angelo, which was connected to Vatican by secret corridor. So it is very likely they have moved money first. And religion always attract money.
Then, the admiral did ask huge amount as well as other conditions... because he was in a stronger position to the Pope, the Emperor and the French King.

I think so. When we call the Sack of Rome, it normally means the one in May 1527. But the Imperialists stayed there until Febrary next year, sacked the city again, then left. I cannot say they did not sack the city during there occupation, though.
