Rowan Atkinson
Hugh Laurie
Stephen Fry
Dawn French
That guy from room 101 and Have I got News for You.
And lots of others who's names I can't remember immediately.

Sorry but no country can hold a candle to British humour.

And I say that as a non Brit.

@Phreddie, LOL! If only we could boo him off the stage. :D

@Lestat, thanks for the support! :p
I think the Room 101 guy is Paul Merson?
As for the first three on your list, I can tell you're a Blackadder fan just from that. :D
Laurie's in a high-ratings American drama now I think. That's good, but it isn't comedy.

Hmm, add Peter Kay to that list. He's funny, though a newer comedian that many you've listed there.

I agree that no country, as a whole, can hold a candle to 'British comedy' (the concept that is), but I believe there are at least 10 American comedians that no Brit can stand next to. I love brit humor too, but I don't see the comedians who can persoanlly compete with the likes of Will Ferrel, George Carlin, Richard Lewis, LArry David, Steve Correll, John Stewart, Vince Vaughan, Jack Black, Dane Cook, Stephen Colbert and lord knows how many actors/stand-ups... Ack there's so many it's insane... I haven't even mentioned some of the older ones, because I wanted to keep this rant to a minimum (too late  ).
