I mean the people who don't think it's good now... ;)
I suppose many artists complain about the quality of their work, no matter how good they actually are though.
My brother always did. Jenica always did. Lina does now that she's going to college for art and is for the first time doing actual training in art. It's an artist thing. :p

Yep, I always think my artwork is worse than other people say it is too...though it's certainly not up to Az's standard, in any case.
And drawing from images? There are enough images just a mouseclick away!
Ooh! Call it research! :p ;)

True enough, Lestat :D But it's just not the same..

On the other hand, using any kind of referance... I just can't make it look good, for some reason. In art class in school, we've used models (fully clothed, sadly) and my drawings of them have been... horrid.

Are you in college yet, or was that high school? I know my brother dealt with nude models in college.

Hmm...I was better at drawing from reference generally. It would depend on the reference, but still...

I *think* what I go to would be the equivalent of high school... I'm not really sure... In our school system, you start at age 7, keep at it for 6 years in the same school, then start another for 3 years. Then it's another 3 years of advanced school, or 3 years of learning how to do specific jobs. I'm currently at the "advanced school" stage. After that, there's some kind of extra-advanced school thingy if you want, I don't really know much about it :p

Yeah, that would be the equivalent of high school here.

Okays... well I'll have to hope they do more nude model stuff in college... Maybe I'll learn how to do it properly then :D

By the way, there was a time when I drew from referance, though that was a LONG time ago... and I mostly used Donald Duck comics :D I think that is a way to learn how to draw, and part of how I learned.

80% of it is still self-taught... drawing a stick figure as a starting point for bodies I learned from the internet :D

Ohh, that's good. :)
In my last big art project (I took the subject for a few years), I drew a few things from reference and created some odd piece at the end. Since then, I haven't really had that much practice, my studies are more related to computers than artwork, even though there has been some animation involved. I did buy a graphics tablet not so long ago though, so maybe I'll get some practice in over this summer...

Hmm, I just purchased some things off of deviantart.com actually. There's a lot of good artwork on there if you feel like digging through stuff you don't like.

@Az, Haha. Maybe...I'll see. It will probably only be small sketch type things for now anyway.

Yeah... there's tons of the stuff. Just registered today, actually :p Name's Vorgoeth, but I don't have anything there that isn't on my page

@Rav, there's no possible way that it could be worse than some of the stuff there :p
