Oh yeah, this weekend is/was a holiday weekend too (holiday is today), and The Great and Powerful Ar worked every day of it. I had Friday "off"... went into work. Huzzah. I work from noon till nine tonight.

Weekend was reasonably fruitilicious. Had pretty good weather, got to see Kaylee (she's doing really good with her new owner, who is astoundingly attractive by the way) and kept up with my running even though I was really stiff (finished another 3-mile run

).

Today I start doing some of the work for my new position, mainly just going over the schedules and seeing how far it's gone so far. And getting all of my other projects in the wrap-up phase.

We are developing a new microcontroller that is designed for the automotive market (still getting details on what part of the car it would be for). Going into automotive has a lot more regulations than normal commercial-grade products so we need to do a bunch of new qualifications on the product and we need to implement a whole new quality system.

So I'm the program manager for the automotive implementation. Making sure all of the quals get done, done on time, figure out what to do if anything fails, make sure the Q/A guys get the quality system planned and implemented on time, etc. And when needed, dig in and help write specs, analyze qual data and stuff like that.

There is a major automotive conference in October, so up until that point I will most likely be focused on the qual activities so we have as much qual data complete before then. After October I think I will be travelling some to go to customer sites with the sales/marketing guys to pitch our new product. But it shouldn't be a significant amount of time, and each trip would probably only be a couple days instead of a full week. But we'll see what happens in October.

Thanks...though I didn't use Flash for it, just Fireworks to create a .gif...I really should go back to Flash so I don't forget all everything about it...
