"We were somewhere outside of barstow when the drugs began to take hold..."
(This is the second time in three days I've used that line here)
And a good line it is.
OK, things are shaping up for the character. I've got a couple hours still of notes jotting, hopefully tonight. I am within five posts of catching up on the story. I've been through enough of the discussion thread.
Plans are for initial contact with Tashara.
Ohh, and DW, is that name of yours, by any chance, based on Tashia?
lol! Not really, it was just one of those things that came to me when I was writing way back in the original story
I can see why you'd think that though
Pretty much, yes, we are still in the prelude phase of people eventually hooking up. My character, for example, is presently en route to an area just within the Amn border, and from there she will head to Windhaven which I believe is somewhere in the Northwest mountain region towards the Spine of the World. (though Windhaven itself is actually a Bloodstalker-created town)
I got the impression that Windhaven was somewhat closer to Tethyr and the forests (and the orc action). Am I just confused?

Great post Cuch! Loved it.
I like getting to read all of these posts every time I log on.

I'm glad you liked it Mag! I just wanted to get something substantial up. I don't think I'll have time to post much in the next few days.
I check back on the page every 15 mins or so at this point, just to see what someone has written.

I'll probably post something late tonight or tomorrow once some other people have brought there characters further along some more.
I have a ton of threads subscribed to now. My mail box ended up getting stuffed with over 250 emails in the past 2-3 days alone.

It makes it easier though, no refreshing constantly, when I hear the beep, I know I need to check the boards.

You know it could be there... I may have gotten confused at BS's mention of the IWD region. I've always tended to be pretty directionally challenged
So people know. My character will be meeting up with Ned, maybe tomorrow evening, and from there heading to Shilmista (known also as the Forest of Shadows)
After that, I'm guessing that the path will lead to Windhaven or somewhere in the vicinity.
ROFL See what you started DW?

I assume you have lower resistance memorized??
At present T'lainya is heading south and will meet up with Tashara there. Then I can send my npcs on their way.
Anybody foolish enough to hit on Tashara *will* learn the painful way. This I promise
Okay, sounds good, as I just posted, I'm set to rendezvous with Ned, and from there will be heading in your direction

I just finished creating a rather lengthy background for my character. So I'm proofreading it, and my screen goes funky. Crashed! Funny, I started writing it down but then switched to MSword as I thinking faster than I could write, but could type as fast as I was thinking. Please hold off on the windows bashing, it's the video card in my system. It's a tad senile so once in a while it completely freaks out. The video left on the screen such is cool looking though. We're not in barstow anymore!
Fortunately, auto save was on!
I need to go rescue my cats from under furniture. They bolted when I went on a bit of a rather profanity laced loud tirade.
Anyway, I've got a few posts to catch up on and may make my first contribution this evening, but probably tomorrow.

Just to clarify, esp since I realize that from time to time I'm not the most claer writers around

I figure Windhaven is about 3-4 days Northwest of tethyr's region. The IWD refernece was just that BS had left IWD about three months or so before the thread picks up. Like I said, I'm not always easily comprehensible, so anyone, if I post something that sounds off, don't hesitate to tell me
@Cuch....You got BS's location right, although I think you made me scared of my own character
@Ned..I had just finished my first post for the story the other night, and just as I started to save it, my system locked up. I think this story is cursed

Aren't computer problems fun?

Actually, I find few things more frustating than dealing with my computer when it malfunctions for whatever reason.
lmao! My cats are also in hiding owing to a stream of profanities. In this case because they keep on insisting that they just *have* to jump in the moving boxes I'm assembling. Given that at least one box contains glassware....
Anyway, on topic, either this evening or tomorrow sounds fine

@BS
I figured that we needed something to start the conversation, and your character has more DF history than just about anyone else on the board. As I hinted at, my guy was raised as a Zhent slave, and I could just picture you tearing through a horde of uppity Zhent mages- good times!
The only confusing thing to me is that DW, Mag, and I (and who else at this point?) have all found the orcs, but now we're going in two different directions.

Well....us 4 in Windhaven could always get drunk and such until the others met up with us. It's sort of why I took all of that gear. Drinking money.

Does it have to be the same group of orcs? It sounds as if large factions of DF fodder............I mean orcs, are on the move in the region, it stands to reason more than one legion of orcs could be slaughtered by elves. There are a bunch of forests to choose from North of Tethyr. Being the geek I am, I've got the Forgotten Realms Atlas on CD (it used to come in handy designing campaigns when I had the time to sit down for hours on end), so if I was more in tune with your geography, I could suggest another forest.
However, if we keep it up with all these orcs amassing an army, R.A. Salvatore might sue us all in light of his most recent trilogy.

As long as we stay away from Mithril Hall, he won't have a case.

If DW started in the Wealdath..the huge forest that covers at least half of Tethyr..then more than one orc group could have been there. Or I'm sure there's smaller forest areas in the region too, not large enough to be marked.
Make me geek #2 then, i have it too, ,although i'm using the big paper map that came with the Fr campaign book..just don't ask why it resembles origami..stupid maps never refold the way they're supposed too

Ohh, TWO groups of orcs- of course, a conspiracy!
It never occured to me that it could go that way- I just assumed I was inspecting the orcs DW waxed. At this point, I think it can go either way. I can't write for the next few days, so I don't have to make that decision

You could make an "adventure" out of it. Maybe a tussle with the owner of the inn, or the wenches husband.
