I don't know any one in america so im lucky but the uk could be next i'd say we were 2# in economic importance

well, at least two of the flights were hijacked...so the pilots were not involved.
there were two 9-1-1 calls placed from those planes explainingwhat had happened.

I cannot put words to what i feel put i can tell all of you who have lost friends and family are greiving and i feel your losses too, im just can't get the words for it

Speculation. I would say not - too much of a coincidence.

I heard that the theory was that terrorists had flew the planes, no proud pilot of a US civilian plane would hit the heart of their country...they would have died first or hit water.

My belief is (being as it has been confirmed that these planes were 'hijacked') the pilots were murdered and the kamikazees flew themselves. Again, more speculation, but more believable than US pilots being involved don't you think?

I have heard confirmation of FOUR hijacked planes, but I am only reitterating what CNN have quoted.

Two - yes - four? too much of a coincidence to be untrue...

I agree completely Ysh, I was just reporting it. However for some of the more extreme groups I would not put it past them. I still cannot belive someone could do this. I saw pictures of people waving to be rescued, they couldn't get out... I keep pinching myself thinking this is a nightmare. It's out of order and whoever did it is going to get their asses kicked. And I hope that the troopers get to them before the officers. The troopers would put the boot in to the bastards...

oh, i know there were 4 planes hijacked, but 2 they have phone calls from passengers saying it was hijacked. the stewardesses were stabbed and then forced their way to the ****pit

I just saw 'ameteur' footage of the collapse of the first tower. It was filmed from 2 blocks away. When the dust cloud started towards the guy, he ran. Just as he turned the corner, the cloud caught up with him and blew him across the street into a car. He was lucky to get under the car and is okay physically, but I can't begin to imagine how such a thing could effect someone emotionally.

In response to an early question of "would you risk your life running into those buildings to save people?"(or something like that)...if my parents or Random Shadow were in there, I wouldn't hesitate; however, I won't even try to guess whether or not I would do that for people I don't even know.

My d/h is at work and I am here alone with pictures of burning buildings and civilians sharing oxygen masks - it just doesn't seem real...

@Nippy - after this, I would put nothing past these people....what is their next target? Hospitals? There are still planes unnaccounted for...

BTW - general question - aren't c0ckpits locked these days (since Lockerby)?

How could this happen?

How could so many jets be hijacked at any one time? How could they fly through what should be such a secure air space? How?

Why aim for the biggest casualties?

This is so distressing...

A report on NPR, interviewing the head of FAA said that ALL US planes that were up are now accounted for.

Really? I haven't heard this. I can't even start to imagine the horror of being trapped in one of the hijacked planes

I would say my condolances but thats just not enough. Emotion never translates well through language. I truly hope that everyone who has family or friends missing or lost can get through this. I say anyone because it's not jsut america that has been affected
I myself have only recently heard from my godfather who works in NYC. Also the priest for married my parents is there as well, we haven't heard form him yet but he's probable in a hospital somewhere if we know him.

Going to be a lot of anger against people of middle eastern origin if it turns out to be them. Lets try to remember that being Irish doesn't make me drink so don't stereotype people, I know many don't on this forum but I jsut thought it needed to be said.

I heard on some boards that people were talking about using nukes if it turns out to be a country. Let me tell you somthing you may not know. Remember Chernobal ( i hope thats spelt right ) that was just a nuk power site that fecked up.
BUT the countries south of that now have ovr 75% of all their babies born with genetic defects . If they do not recive enough aid, and they need a lot, by 2040 they will pass the 90% mark after which the country will be " culled " by the UN in order to prevent the problems spreading.
Nukes are jsut posion for the world.

Again my deepest regrets that anything like this happened.

I agree. If my own were in there I would be too manic to care - I would be in there fighting...if my own were close enough by I would not be running into th WTC I would be running to them...

God! I respect the guys that go into such a place for a living - regardless of where their family are...I am not saying they do not consider their family, I can only admire those who have to make such a decision...

Even if their family are not in the building, should something happen to this person - their family are involved...
