Between unpredictable spells, Wild Surges, and the return of Sarevok (my all-time favorite villain), ToB is likely going to send me into an epileptic fit when I play it.

The Wild Mage or me going into an epileptic fit?
I believe it was one of the ToB designers who said: “Everybody loves the Wild Mage until he turns the entire party into squirrels.” What more could you ask from a psychotic practitioner of Wild Magic?

well u will defenatly see that we are the most powerfull, most members (i think) most posts (oh yeah!!
) and the most powerfull classes (admit it
)
But i think what is the most importend we really know alot of playing with thieves or mages, we all played the game with a thief or mage and can really give good advices ( sometimes)
Anyway we are and will be the greatist and most powerfull guild ever and we will obtain my goal: GET over 500 replies.
(ok guys we only need around 234 more keep posting
)

Hey, we’re halfway there at least, Dude.
. We
do have to more vigilant about keeping the Shadow Mages up though. It’s far too easy to get buried.

well, we have less than a month till TOB comes out, then the shadow mages will be an incredible forum for techniques and spoilers for not just the sequal but also for the much anticipated wild mage. we shall only grow in strength.

The problem here is that there is nothing to talk about. We have to come up with a new and large discussion topic to spark disucussion and debate. That would get our posts up quick and keep us at the top. Unfortunately, I'm tired right now and cannot think of anything (probably couldn't anyway
). Anyone else?

I thought the Wild Mage was a good conversation piece, but that seems to have run its course. Hmmm, what to discuss... How about Artemis Enteri?
I use the CLUAConsole to create him then forced him into my party. Then I did the same thing with Drizzt and had them duel. Now immediately I realized something was wrong. Drizzt was barely down to half his HP when he would kill Artemis. For two people supposedly combat equals this was very disconcerting. But then I tried playing Artie like the sneaky assassin he is. With his high stealth I could backstab the drow, duke it out for a few seconds then fade back into the shadows again. Artemis would win every time.
There’s plenty of fun that can be had using the CLUAConsole, you just need to look.

You're right Kayless, also the CTRL+Q thing is really funny. Try this and you'll find that also rabbits have their fighting abilities....
Moreover, have you seen some of the incredible items that will be in ToB???? WOW they're really cool

You can create Boo with the CLUAConsole too
His stats:
Boo
Neutral Good, HP 2
Strength 9
Dexterity 25
Constitution 3
Intelligence 9
Wisdom 9
Charisma 9
He's smarter then Minsc

waht would be nice is that boo would be kinda like a familiar of Minsc.
so he could walk around and give advice though the 2 htpoint bonus isn't really worth it i think
BTW how PLays with a Familiar i have a rabbit i called it Henk but it only sits in my backpack and never comes out.
The only reason i got a familiar is because i wanted some extra Hitpoints.
Is any one actually using a familiar ??????

My solo Kensai/Mage character has a ferret familiar who picks pockets and detects traps
He comes in handy from time to time. (I just wish they had an actual ferret/weasel sprite rather then using the universal gopher sprite)

hey all,
After reading most of your guild spam, (took hours!!
) i decided to start a new BGII game, with an assassin.
After 20 mins of stats rolling i thought i was ready to kick some ass, but no.
He had a THAC0 of 15 or so, so it took him hours to kill a goblin!
Trough the dungeon i had Minsc and jaheira in my party, so it wasnt too much of a problem. But after the fight between Irenicus and the wizards, i dumped them, to continue solo. Even though i gained some levels, my thac0 still sucked so i had to hide, try to stab, hide, try to stab, till killed the guy. And at clvl 11 your damage is too low to kill a npc in 1 stab, so i think you understand it took like an hour to kill Mae Var.
Does anyone recognize this problem?!?!?
How do you manage to kill something at low levels?
AAARGH!!
btw what are the advantages of a assassin/mage, beside invisibility and stoneskins? Aint it better to stab?!?
(with a good thac0
)

one of the cool things about dualign over to a mage will definitely be recognized in TOB when you will access to level 10 spells, plus you have your backstab and poison. the hiding and backstabbing is all part of playing a character...that is how an assassin kills. it is important to remember to use yoru poison ability which is very effective against spellcasters since the poison damage each round disrupts their ability to cast spells.
