Now I'm back in LA, and it's summer temperature here. It's around 25-26C (77-79F), the sky is blue and the sunshine feels warm and nice compared to the cold in Stockholm. In fact, I just came home after having had a caffe latte and ice cream at the terrace of my favorite local coffee house.
The latte and ice cream on a terrace sound lovely....I can expect about a 4 month wait for that A guy on one of the morning news channels went outside with a cup of hot water, threw it in the air, and it froze before it hit the ground. I need to move somewhere south.

Typical January weather in London. Rainy and grey, with a chilling bitterness in the wind. Murky fog in the mornings too, Big Ben and the skyscrapers of the Docklands barely discernable on my morning bus ride across Waterloo bridge. Some mornings not even the dome of St Paul's is visible.
I never know whether the winter in England makes the summer so endearing and valuable, or whether to just uproot and move abroad to sunnier climbs.

It was I had one today, too. It's still summer weather here. It's cold (well, relatively speaking) in the evenings though, yesterday I took a walk on the beach and I had to put on a sweater.

Last week we experienced a draft of Canadian weather that sunk deep into the US Midwest: day temperatures with highs around 5 Fahrenheit, lows around -10, and with a nice windchill to add that extra zest. Now we're back to normal: highs in the 20s, lows in the teens.
I wouldn't mind something warmer at this time of year, but no one has offered to give us their winter mansion in northern Florida. Shame, really.

I've been paying some attention to the Canadian and Northern Usian weather forecasts this winter. Has this so far been a particularly cold winter? -30 F or worse isn't anything like what we usually see in Holland, so I can't really tell. I'm curious though. With all that has been happening I was expecting a slightly warmer winter. Yet here too we're so far experiencing the second coldest winter of the decade.
Weather. Just can't get my little finger on it.

Someone apparently reminded the Canadian weather that it had a responsibility now to drop down into the Great Lakes states of the US. We've gone from a high of 50 F yesterday to 14 F now, with a -4 taking windchill into account. It's breezy, too. Perfect for kite flying.

The funny thing is, it was colder than usual last year in Vancouver. We usually never get that much snow and last year we ended up getting snow in November (which never happens). So I think they should stop calling it global warming and start calling it "the world has gone to hell run for your lives".
Actually, I can verify Tricky's post from a few above yours: it is getting colder in Canada.

We're having 5 F in glorious Poland, which i know about thanks to the online farenheit to celsius converter
Mornings are being spent on trying to determine which odd-shaped snow mound is your car, accept for me, since i don't have one. I spend my mornings freezing on bus stops, since buses are always late after snowfall.

Weather has been certifiably messed here. Jumping seamlessly from unseasonably warm to unusually cold. Got snow on the ground today with a heap more expected this afternoon. But at least the temperature is correct for the time of year today.

That's terrible. When we were last in Budapest two years ago, we noticed that at night the homeless were allowed to sleep throughout the underground subway stops, where it's always heated. I'm sure there are other places for them, but some people simply refuse to take up in shelters. I hope some of the major cities in Poland have similar arrangements.
