I will say this once only. You *have* been warned. From this point onwards I take no responsibilty as to ..
what may...or....
may not... happen to your character if he misbehaves.
*exceptionally evil grin*
Note: This is not a threat.

ROFL sis, of course that's not a threat, just a promise right?
*sigh* My muse has been drinking too much caffeine. I'm going to post another piece..I don't want anyone to feel I'm trying to monopolize the story or that they have to post longer bits or more frequently. This is just to give people time to get their characters where they want them, besides we need a little battle to liven things up

I don't mind a ton of posts at all. More for me to read and inspire me to write more. When I end up with nothing to do chances are I'll write again. At the moment I'm still busy so that's not now.

Sytze just PMed me with a question that I thought would be a good idea to also bring up here.
If anybody is curious and/or plans to insert characters or events from Baldur's Gate Two into "Scattered Embers," the present story takes place approximately 8 years after BG2.
That would be my rough guess anyway. The original story was inspired by a certain pompous knight in BG2, and the DF saga that followed would have maybe comprised 3 story years (and RL years for that matter). Since this story occurs five years after the "ending," of the final DF "book," I would hazard we'd be roughly 8 years after the game setting.

8 years shouldn't be so much that it killed the charcaters I used in my post. I hope, anyway.
Speaking of my post, I'm almost done and it might be a tad on the long side...

I figure eight years should present no trouble at all, it could be even less since other people could well have added the years differently than I did
lol! No need to worry, just look at how long both T'lainya's and my intro posts were

Should we also mention to newer members what NPCs have been used in the past and what their written in histories with other members are? Or should we just start from scratch (besides Anomen, of course). Harry and Imoen went off to live happily ever after, I recall reading somewhere...? And I know AC used to travel with the theif Alora, who may still be alive in Baldur's Gate.

Are Arkanis and his gang used in your books? if so, I might have a problem...
@AC, check your pm's for a change, for crying out loud!

To the best of my knowledge we have never used Arkanis et al.

I read the stories, but it was soooo long ago. I've forgotten all the NPCs we've used.

Hmmm..
I just remembered. We have also used Sir Keldorn and Sir Ryan Trawl (sp?)
from The Radient Heart. Though for the life of me I can't remember what happened
Hmmm.... We also said that no real knoweldge of the books would be needed here..
So maybe we should do something like this in the name of fairness
For those who have played BG2, recall how when NPCs from the previous game were encountered? One of the dialogue options was something like:
"Xan/Edwin [insert name of NPC here] I thought you were dead."
Maybe we could do something like this. Just assume that through some forces beyond anybody's ken, these figures are intact and present, regardless of what might have happened before
btw, nice intro Sytze
