Probably Laeral was a dryad. Their tears are often created into gems and are quite valueable.

Maevar it is. I also would have accepted the true spelling Mae'Var.
Mae'Var is the rival thief to the thieves guild one aligns with. Mae'Var owns the guildhall and was treacherous to the rival guildhall, and eventually you must eliminate him. If you are a thief you inherit the guildhall.

Well I was referring to a rival thieves guild. I dont count a bunch of vampires as a guild, though I know they are.
