Is that a good or a bad thing?
I see you have the new avatar Rav, well done

Of course it's a good thing!
Thanks. I'm just trying to fix the line on the outside of it.
I have a better one on HoL, an attacking cornugon (and a new banner).

Oooo could you post links to the two of them, I'd be interested in cricti-er, evaluating them

Okay, some links it is.
Original sized Beholder
Cornugon
Banner
I don't like the banner so much. I might work on that some more.

I still dont know if we should allow Rav to join, we still need a demonstration of his conviction.

Yeah, the banner needs a bit of work...
And Demo, what exactly is Rav trying to join?

*impales Demo on trusty sword and strings him up by his intestines. Takes control of the organisation and buries Demo's remain in a place from which they will
never return* Good enough?
@DJV, yep. What do you think of the other things?

My question also...
Oh, and nice ones, Rav

That's a rather efficent way of doing things Rav.
The others, well they are good, but I was guessing you hadn't made them, so I wasn't going to comment...

Well, I did dig them out from the Baldur's Gate files, copy out all the frames individually, remove the green screen element and create an animation of it...
But I didn't draw the creatures, true.
Oh, I'll let Demo explain about the group of his.

Oh, well that is quite a bit...
Just out of interest, where would you find these animations?
And I will wait I guess, hopefully Demo shall answer.

There's a little program called Near Infinity that lets you see all the files used in the BG and IWD series, with limited support for KOTOR and NWN. You can play the music, see the videos, animations and scripts for game events. All the monster animations are under the 'BAM' file type.
Takes a bit of getting used to NI, but it seems to be worth it.

Damn, I thought you were going to say that.
The problem is, Near Infinity doesn't work for me, I think it has something to do with my version of Java. As a result, I can't use the program fully, though some things work.
Perhaps I shall have to take another look.

Ahh, that's a shame.
Well, I'm using the latest version of Java (or close to anyway - v1.5) and only get the occasional error.

I don't think so. Before the summer we were using v1.4.2 and Java was updated to v1.5 sometime while I was on my summer break.
There are lots of different software packages offered by Sun though, maybe you're getting mixed up with one of those?
Or I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I go back to University in a couple of weeks.

I may be confused it to something else, but why I then have a book in my shelf, labeled as something like: "Guide to Java 2"??
