Buck demoted Rav and Luis to being members again.

Apparently this was done without telling them. The reason for this I don't know.

It seems to be either - they are too 'chummy' with members, or it could be due to them speaking against the post limit...

I don't know any facts... Maybe ML's mods News anchor man can help...

what!! rav demoted.......this is why I didnt even think twice about asking to be a mod a long time ago when I was frequent.....I socialize to much with the members and I would definately only last as a mod for an hour before I was demoted by a hater :D

anchor man???...*runs into telephone booth to change*

Jumping to conclusions is never a good thing to do to when forming opinions.

Anyways, the demotion of Ravager and LA. is a matter between them and Buck, and Buck has clearly stated he does not wish to justify his actions more then he already have done, so don't expect any more public information from him about this issue for quite a while.

Opinions are formed regardless......of course one should take all things into consideration, I understand what you are saying..but...really, Xan...people are people, it happens.

<snip>
I know it happens, that is very "people-ish".
But perhaps judge that when one doesn't know all the facts, then the conclusion should be just that, and not take all hearsay, second hand information or otherwise clouded information as pure and undisputed facts.
There is always more then one side to any story.

I wasnt saying anything about hear say, just what one of the people involved spoke to me about thats all. I dont wish to continue this discussion anymore as it has no purpose or meaning to anyone here. ;)

True enough - I was also attempting to speak more in general terms then to you (or Juniper) directly. :) Wasn't trying to pin anything to you :)

I know this was to Xandax, but just a general comment: if people just repeat what is being said to them without considering the reliability and the limits of the source of information they may end up just uncritically believing in what is fed to them.
*sigh* I assume moderators are expected to be antisocial and not expected to actually associate themselves with everyone else..too often
No, there is no such norm. You may not believe this since you haven't seen it, but all of the present SYM mods were once heavily involved in social threads (yes, Xandax too although he denies it nowadays :D ). T' used to frequent the bar threads and scare the guys with her whip, Mahar used to light up everyone's life with his lampshade of COMMunication, Fable used to participate in all discussions possible and as I said, even Xandax used to hang out in the pub threads.

However, when members become SYM mods, they simply don't have much time for social chitchat and spamming anymore. (Try yourself to read and assess all post in SYM just for one week!) This has been the pattern for all of the seven SYM mods we've had. All of them have full time jobs and other duties and interests, so having to read every single word at SYM leaves little time for spamming. It's different for us game forum mods since we often don't have that much traffic at the forums we moderate, and also, it's easier to moderate.
