No, I'm not into wine at all. Rum isn't sweet if you get the right kinds, not compared to some other stuff you can drink.
I prefer rum and vodka, just because their mostly alcohol and water, less stuff thrown in them than a lot of other drinks. Less chance of feeling sick when you drink alot of it.

Wow! You can buy wine for £2? Nasty. I prefer whites. I like riesling for a sweet or pinot grigio if I want to go drier.
I think the reason I'm not big on red is that my first experience with wine was with the red "house wine" at a seafood restaurant in Normandy. First of all, let me say that any wine without a name that is free and comes in a gravy boat is not worth drinking, especially if you've never had wine before and you're 16. I think that experience spoiled reds for me.
I had a similar experience with rum, except that the gravy boat was a half-drank bottle of Fruitopia complete with backwash. It was hot too since it had been on the floor of my friend's car all day. Yuck! I DON'T drink rum, period.
Also, best thing to do to avoid feeling sick is take ONE asprin before bed and drink LOTS of water.

I can't even smell rum without feeling sick. I'll drink bourbon right out of the bottle though at room temperature.

I've got a lot of different foods I'm like that with. I'm really picky with food. Booze, not so much. I generally mix it in Coke, and that does the trick with most things. I cannot tell you how many of those Barton's 1.75 liter vodka jugs I've gone through toting them along with me to parties. Quite possibly the cheapest way to get drunk and stay drunk. Tastes horrid, and your guaranteed a headache at the least from sucking it down the way I do.
Painkillers don't really work on me anymore unless we're talking narcotics like morphine and codiene. Water though, is what you need after drinking. Your supposed to have a glass of water for every beer you've had I think it was, and a shot for a shot or something like that. I just usually down two glasses before bed, and generally another if I wake up again and I'm fine.
Now, I cannot tolerate beer. Whiskey, occassionally, but it's not my thing. It's sour and ruins my fun. Jaeger, well now, some crazy stuff has gone down when my friends and I get a bunch of that. If you ever come across these black labeled bottles of "Xtreme Vodka", I highly suggest their Cherry Vodka. It's cheaper, and better than Absolut IMO. Then again, I love vodka. Great for tossing into a strawberry milkshake, SoCo is too.
I did a SoCo 100 proof and a strawberry milkshake yesterday. The caramel flavor mixed pretty well with the strawberry. Works just tossing into a frosty from Wendy's too on long car rides....
