And I know people in your hometown I could pay to have your limbs removed if you mention anything of the sort towards her again. Capice?
I'm just protecting her honor...
Who is this?
Syd Barrett, the former creative genius behind the late '60s Pink Floyd. He's responsible for much of their early success including the little-known but sublime Piper At the Gates of Dawn. He was a casualty of acid, heroin and other stuff and quit/was kicked out. Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters eventually picked up the slack and ran the band through its later brilliance (Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and, later, The Wall). Waters and Gilmour were at each others throats for many, many years though and Waters quit to do some individual stuff. Gilmour picked up the pieces through legal action and carried on with Mason and Wright, making The Division Bell, etc. Waters and the rest of Floyd performed together for the first time in years at Live 8, but they won't be getting back together ever... Gilmour and Waters still hate each others guts.
But it seems you know who Floyd are, so nevermind.

Hey! Good news. Especially for Tony. I may be on ESPN soon. The Sportsnationals are coming to town, and Top Sportsman will be covered through and through. I'll post air dates later.

Well I do own all their albums (32 I believe). Bands tend to have several members that are at odds with each other. Take Rolling Stones for example, well just two here but many bands have this problem. They need to get over themselves and just play like back in the day.

That's alot, I had no idea they had so many.
Well the Stones don't really fight that much anymore, for that matter they never really did to my knowledge... Disputes and such sure, but that's not what I'm talking about. The Waters-Gilmour relationship is legendary for being incredibly bitter, there haven't been too many as well known as that. The Smiths (Morrissey-Marr) and Guns N' Roses (Axl-Slash, everyone else) come to mind, but there aren't that many to my knowledge.
@ Chus: Congrats, get me more details and ill watch for you.

Well Jagger and Richards did have that 10 year fall out with each other. They found out the hard way that they needed each other, they got over themselves, and to this day are still touring (well off and on... I know).

Well I know but I just never really thought of them as that kind of band... As far as im concerned that split was the whole band just getting old, tired of touring and each other and because Keith and Mick are the most responsible for everything their fallout was made into a bigger deal than it really was. I never really thought there was any hatred there like in the three previous cases mentioned, but I see what you mean... You can definitely make the case, but the fact that they did get back together seems to testify to what I mean, that there was never really any hatred or bitterness. Can you see Pink Floyd, the Smiths or GnR ever playing together again for any length of time? There's absolutely no way.

Syd Barrett didn't just fall to drugs. He was seriously mentally ill. He lived as more or less a hermit for 20 years or something. But the interview with founding members of the band I heard last night said they kept in some kind of touch and still saw him as a member in some sense. The Madcap Laughs is a great album, IMO.

Well that's true enough but if those bands really wanted to, they could work things out. Of course their egos are too big... I remember one point and time it was about the music.

You sure it wasn't just drugs? I know lsd, acid, and blow can make you very ill mentally and physically ill as well.
