I don't really know why I chose To Kill a Mockingbird as my optional read, but I liked it. As it turned out, a year later, it was required reading for one of my classes, so I wound up being ahead, which is always fun. I also had to read Of Mice and Men which I vaguely recall as being "decent," which is just another way of my saying "okay but not so great." I also read Animal Farm, which I liked so much that I bought a copy for myself a couple years ago.

Heh, we had to read Animal Farm as well, but that was in second year, it was okay, wasn't as bad as the later books we had to read.

Was Animal Farm the book where
Spoiler
the animals took over the farm and ruled it, but they weren't able to cooperate with eachother, and thus the whole plan ruined

Yup, if we can trust my vague memory of the book. It has been ages when I read it last time. Was actually quite good book.

We had to read all those books too. Did you get to see the movie Mice and Men? They show that one part where he kills the dude, it was quite good actually. To Kill a Mockingbird was a good read too. But I still enjoy Where the Red Fern Grows.

Iron Maiden are my all time favourite band, what do you think of them?

More or less. It was kind of a back-handed slap to anyone who thought something good came of the revolution; the animals, like the Bolsheviks, took over, but nothing really changed except the leadership.

Too bad you weren't alive to keep Iron Maiden alive in the Battle of the Bands. :(

I think its one of the funniest animes ever, I have all 6 dvds and all 4 volumes of the manga Kiohyiko Azuma is a great author, in the manga sense.

I would recommend it if you have a very loose sense of houmor.

Now what? Should we wait and create a paradox here?
