What Do You Want in KotOR III?
I hated!
I hated the fact that on a lot of areas you were just rushed through. On KOTOR 1 you got to go back and fully explore a lot of areas after you killed everything in sight. I can count the amount of times in KOTOR 2 when I couldn't but would have loved to been able to just stay around and explore, or even go out of the loop, but wasn't able to. This amount would take up more than both hands by the way. I mean in KOTOR you were able to explore all the planets and just wander around before you HAD to go on the finial mission/planet. In KOTOR 2 I ran out of Medpacks really early on my first time finishing and had to be really careful while fighting Kreia, Sion, those wierd things on the planet, etc. I mean just to slow things down and not rushed you through the game would have been nice. I mean in KOTOR 1 you were getting stalked by a enemy that knew where and who you were. On KOTOR 2 you were rushed and the bad guys didn't have a clue. I also hate how Kreia was the final boss! I mean she was with you the whole game, if she wanted to act on her plans she could have at ANY TIME!! I mean she, from her point of view, could/should have taken Exile to a deserted planet, maybe Korriban (ps. what happened to Czerka?) and forced him to do what ever she wanted. Instead she follows him around to all these planets rebuilding the Order just to kill them herself? (LS only i think) It just seems like they made the game around her, expecially the ending and on Telos (part 1), and never actual make her the bad guy until the end. I think that if almost ANY of our suggestions for KOTOR III had been implemented in KOTOR II that the game would have been WAY better! It pisses me off that I was so excited for a game that was rushed and in general just plain CRAP!

Atton: Ah. well that would explain it. Which one do you want?

I know my opinions are things people have probably said before but, being almost brand new to the whole gaming thing I would just like to put in my two cents. ^.^ I honestly don't play many games, KotOR was my first, and KotOR II my second, but I've been doing rp online, D&D and live action for years so that's more my area of interest. In some eyes that may discredit my opinion but I think it's just as important to have the pov from both avid gamers and newbies alike. ^.^;
The first game was a WONDERFUL rp experience, and the second was much better graphics wise. I was sad that the second's rp was nowhere near as entertaining however, concidering this is an rpg. I think if Bioware and Obsidian were to work together they may very well come up with one of the best games ever made.
Personally, I'd really prefer to play Revan again. The setup of the first game allowed the player to become much more attatched to thier pc and I want to play the resolution of her story myself. Also to play with some of the characters from both of the previous games would be good (like Carth, Bastila, Mandalore, HK, etc.) I know some people think Revan (or the Exile) would be too powerful but if you're fighting the True Sith in the unknown regions you wouldn't be. And I would be very dissappointed if they didn't bring her story to a good close/resolution.
There's a petition for this if you agree, any and all are welcome to sign. (It's not my petition however, I don't presume to take any credit for it.)

This may be possible, or it may not. I have no idea, it's just something I think may be a good idea.

I'm not going to re-read the last 20 pages, because that'd take ages and it's already 2am.
What I want is for the style Kotor to breed with the style of Morrowind, and then we get to play the resulting love child. The open-endedness of Morrowind set in the Star Wars universe. I know the reason Morrowind could be so open ended was partly due to the fact it was set on one main island (and the few islets off the coast) and that wouldn't translate well into the whole interstellar nature... but I'm sure the programmers could find some happy comprimise between the two.
It'd be nice to have a lot more mini-quests (not including pazaak and whatever that racing game is... I can't believe I forgot what it's called), which aren't related to the main quest in some way.
Plus no more wookies. They're irritating to listen to and generally bleh.

I would like the story line to some how render you unable to be a jedi at first like in the first kotor except with out the MIB memory wipe thing. something like you start as a kid on some planet, maybe Naboo, and are dicovered by a passing jedi and are taken to coruscant (sp?) for training but encounter some reason for immediate (sp? man i suck) landing on a back water planet where the jedi who found you starts training you with out the council's decision on the matter.
You go from the planet to coruscant where you are brought before the council and tell you that you have accepted, but your master loses his place on the council for training you. He leaves the order forever and leaves you to be trained in the arms of a different master.
Once you reach adulthood and are ready to take the trials of becoming a jedi knight a knew threat arises that has something to do with the "true sith" and your old master who has become the greatest threat among them. Bastilla comes to talk to the order about assembling a team and finding a different ship just in case the ships they have are recognized as jedi vessals (sp?).
You pass the trials and are handpicked by Bastilla because of the force adept that she senses in you. You and she start by searching for a ship in which you can pick from like three including the Ebon Hawk, depending on how you go about looking for the ship. Once you get the ship she tells you that the two of you will need help and so you start your seach for Revan and the Exile and find other people who can help along the way.
That's all I got but i'll think of more whether you want me to or not.

I want to be able to hide in the shadows, shadows being somewhat lacking in this game. I know of at least two games where you can lose pursuit this way, and--though it might not be as easy to do this when you're hunted by Force users--it might do well in this game; after all, what use is the Stealth skill but to use the myriad of different stealth belts in the game? Stealth should have more use than just that; things like Security and Computer skills have multiple uses. It probably wouldn't work as well, though, considering the differences in technology between Splinter Cell and Theif, and the Star Wars universe.
Someone may've mentioned this one, but I'm too lazy to read back (also, I'm on dial-up, so reading all the pages would take up my entire day), but we should have night and day. At least at night you'd have more shadows to hide in. And why does no one eat or go to the bathroom? It's silly, really, but no one ever seems to eat or go to the bathroom in games (from my experience; it may happen in some others). Nor does anyone sleep (with the one exception of KotOR II when you first arrive on Telos and wait for the Lieutenant to release you). Sure, they can do these things in transition between planets (although where the bathroom on the Ebon Hawk would be I haven't a clue), but that can't be the only time people need to eat, sleep, or use the restroom. It's a silly suggestion, but it'd be more realistic.

your charector should be able to have a hood up and weapons should be held on your belt rather than all ways in your hands, start at the age of 5 or 6 and actually learn the ways of the force rather than allready knowing them also i want to be able to:
throw objects at people (using the force)
jump (outside combat) also off walls to attack onto people
manipulate your surroundings eg. dropping the ceiling on an enemy or creating a wall in front of you to block an enemy or make a whole in a wall to make a passaga through
freeze some one
add points to abilities for limited time to open doors, etc
save your self from death (rather than having to go back to a previous save)
pull an enemys weapon into your own hand
do stuff that looks cool, eg make your lightsaber float from your belt into your hand and any thing else that floats to you looks cool
wipe minds.

Do you really want to have to stop every other minute or two to eat a dinner? Although it would be nice to see them eating something while your wandering around on the ebon hawk.... or sleeping

Washroom and sleeping
I think that this idea of having a washroom or needing to sleep is kind of silly although I do agree that they need to. I think that they could make it an interesting aspect to the game. I think they could make it more like the Sims. Then there would be benefits to thier fighting style if they were more relaxed, better toned, slept more, etc. I don't think that any of this is an actual idea that would be implementable in KOTOR but it is a new and cool idea if Lucas (maker of Star Wars) and EA (maker of SIMS) got together. I do agree that parts of this game are unrealistic. I think that ONE Jedi verses an entire Sith army is going to lose. The part that will matter is how long will it take. I do not like the road that KOTOR is going down. The reason that KOTOR 1 was so good was because it had no ties to the movies. No restrictions in playability and history and gameplay. They could do anything they wanted without rammifications of the movie. I think they should try to get back to that if they do more KOTOR's than the 3 they are planning. Anymore and everyone will be playing DOOM or Quake. This series was a great one game thing. Survived in a second game, anymore than 3 and it will die.
I think that they should focus on more aspects in SF history than just KOTOR and Movie. I mean set a new game 1000 years after KOTOR and do a new game another 1500 after that. They have 4000 years until the movies use up the time except for 5 years here and 10 years there. After KOTOR 3 make it so the history is set in stone if you ever have to refer to it. I really don't care if Exile was a man or woman, lightside or dark. I barely cared what Revan was supposed to be after I started KOTOR 2. I hope they get their minds in the right place, finish the game, make it worthy to come after KOTOR 1. If they can't do this I say revamp 1, repackage it, redo it, whatever and send it back out. KOTOR 1 was the best so far, KOTOR 2 barely deserved to follow and from what I've heard and what I am betting KOTOR 3 is going to be like I am going to dread playing it.

Yeah OK
I'm with you Darth. I think it would be cool to have a second level character, Carth's son.
I think that your ideas are kind of contradictory. You say having Bastilla and Atton and them but then have things that would be years later like Dustil and a Madalorian planet. They don't even have a moon yet! Also don't you kill Atris?

You dont have to kill Atris. Thats what makes this game so complicated for future designers...they have made many, many variables.
Do you mean Dustil years later? Dustil has already popped up and is probably at least 18...what do you mean?

it would be great to have Dustil as a PC. as for the whole atris deal, they could just dance around her story like they did w/ revan in kotor II...then these games will never be concluded.
i hope they bring atton, mira, bao-dur, and brianna/mical back 'cause kreia mentioned how they would rebuild the order (or sumthin like that). they cant just get rid of em, especially not atton! that wouldnt be cool...

Characters:
Carth,Bastilla,*Revan*,T3 & HK-47(That's a given),Canderous/Mandalore,Atton(Good feeling) and perhaps mira.
Planets: Yavin IV,Korriban,Dantooine,Tatooine,Nar shaddaa(The new Taris),Corescant(sp?)
Others: In Kotor2 we see the ravager which appears to be an early star destroyer of some sort. We have no idea where it came from or who built it. I wanted more background on this. And why Mandalore wanted it destroyed...I mean I guess it could have been just becuase it was an enemy ship from the war but...
-Also I'd like to have an encounter with a "fett" of some sort. In both games we may find or purchase armor from Bounty Hunters or famous warriors...I want to meet one of them and have the chance to kill them.
-Picking your species out of a small list (Maybe 5), and better apperences.
-I am a darksider and even I want a slight decrease in the power of Force Crush....SLIGHT.
-Larger Difference in events between LS and DS.
-Please...Make it EASIER to get a lightsaber. I'm a jedi let me act like one.
-Day/Night would be nice...But ehhhhhh.
-GET RID OF THE INFLUENCE SYSTEM.
Thats all for now...

1.I think the game play should be longer.
2.I wish the planets were bigger and more open.
3.The best thing ever would be hooded robes.
4. I wish you could pick the hilt of your lightsaber.
5.You should be able to fully customize your character like hair, facial hair highth, and build.
6. Better graphics.
7.More Open Game play.

Quiet or Loud
I think that a new idea could be to play from different starting points. This would allow for the blaster, non-Jedi, happy people. I mean make it so that you start out in one of say 3-4 places. 1. could be a complete unknown from Kassek(sp?) 2. a Senator from some small planet (stationed on Currasant) 3. Jedi trained from a child 4. Dark arts(sith wannabe) from Korriban.
This would also allow for the different races aspect. Think you choose a Wookie from Kassak and you (originally) fight to make aliens accepted in human eyes and to get Kassek into the Republic (fully if it is already). Also makes it so that you would NEED to hand pick your party. Keep it small because reguardless of your starting point you will get picked by the Republic to fight the Sith and save the day. As Manditory team members you would get the other 4 starting areas so they would all diverge eventually. Make it so that everyone has different skills. The senator would get soldiers or influence on a planet to help them achieve a goal. Jedi would be more solo but would respect local authority. Dark sider (not sith remember) does what they want! Unknown works in their own way behind the scenes. I think that if you pick this you could work differently than other KOTORs.
This would allow for a quiet and LOUD game. You go unknown to save the republic no one knows you and although you'd get hostility from those you have to encounter it wouldn't be like they were seeking you out. This idea works in the hiring of charcters which would force you to A) get skilled to no have to hire them, worry about money for wages, and in general introduce a new aspect to the game. Still works whether or not you let the 4 starting positions come together or not.

I think it would be cool to have the game played partly/ or fuly in the mandelorian wars. Your a jedi who falows reven, or play as reven. and your given special missions by reven or something if you play as a diff jedi, or you lead the war and your own bitalion of jedi.. I liked learning about the wars in the other games. I think it would be fun to play it to the destruction of malecore
War!
I would love a war! I mean an actual full out battle bloody war! Killing, battles, skirmishes, winners loosers, gun ships, capital ships, you in a snub fighter or directing it all from a battle ship. It would make the game so much more dynamic. Maybe a premise of True Sith v. Rebuilt Republic! You a general in the war and the Jedi Approve of it!! That would be freaking great!

Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the Genreal to his poorly trained collection of bounty hunters.
