You are just in time to see them leave.

I follow them to the bar, not running to catch up, thats not dignified

If I see them sitting at a tble, I order some cider and ask if they mind if I join them

"Oskatat, would you care to join us for lunch?"

"Not at all, please sit down," Dosker says. "Now, back to the gnome, Vanek."

Oskatat sits down, waiting for things to explain themself. Meanwhile his cider is brought and he pays (how much anyway?)

"Nah, I don't care. I'm getting free food right now," Vanek says.

"Ha, free food yes, before that comes lets get to our discussion. Vanek, you seem to be the one working on the monestary finances. Would you happen to know how much that missing item would be worth?"

"Hmmm, last I appraised, about 65,000 gold pieces give or take a few due to the estimate. I appraised and Identifyed it when Master bought the thing as to make sure his money is worth it."

"And that would be Master's personal item, or the monestary owns it?"

Not being able to stop myself:

"that much! and it is missing? was it well guarded?"

"It was the mater's personal item. He bought it incase of an attack and he needed some support with his fists."

Oskatat-

"It was well guarded. I saw a few traps in the room I investigated in," Dosker says.

"In case of an attack hmm? And you investigated it Dosker, what kind of traps, and were they set off, or still active?"

"They appeared to be alarms, concussion, and stunning traps," Dosker says. "Nicely done ones at that. None of them went off though."

"Hehehe," the gnome laughs. "You think I stole it don't you. I've had that asked to me so many times today. Let me tell you something now. That necklace would not be of use to me. I'm not even a monk. I am just a simple banker, and besides, I have WAY more money than that is worth at the moment. If I wanted it so bad, I'd just buy myself one. Now, while locking the vault, setting the traps, and whatnot, I did see Grimgnaw out at night before I left the place."
