I honestly don't see what the big deal is about starting spam threads. I was under the impression that they were for casual banter and pointless conversation full of tangents and humour. Not that I mean that as derogatory: I find it pleasant. But this talk about having "the right" to start spam threads, or hoping a particular thread flops seems rather nonsensical to me. Is there a limit on the number of spam threads allowed in the forum? If so, why? And if not, just start a frickin' thread already, Phreddie, and quit sending little barbs into this thread.

It's a chat forum, not a territory to be conquered and divided based on who's got what thread and how busy it is. At least that's how I see it.

@Ar, the mods don't like too many threads that share a purpose like spamming. If they have different topics, that generally seems fine.

Spam threads, too much spam inbetween my post and yours. I've been dazed and distracted since I woke up this morning. Everything's going slow now.

Their like liquor permits. Someone has to lose theres for you to obtain yours.

Even still, it seems like one spam thread is just like all the others. I fail to see the significance behind starting one.

@Ar, Some topics are purely spam, such as this one, the Citadel and of course the SF. Others are based on specific topics and generally die down relatively quickly.
The mods probably just don't want SYM filled with purely spam threads.
