Back at the saloon, Vixen was becoming quite confident of her abilities at card fiddling. Waverly had netted quite a large amount of money due to her swindling and things were looking up.

So, Mr Waverly how else can I earn myself a few dollars?

After sitting in her hotel room for several hours expecting a visit from the deputy  Gigi got bored and went out, only to discover a message asking her to go and speak to Loner. She peered inside the jail, but nobody seemed to be there. "Ah, well," she thought, "time for a drink," and headed on over to the saloon.

Seeing Gigi, Darkpoet called to her.

"Hey there young lady, finest fashions from all over the world."

She walked over. "I thought I'd see you at the show last night, cowboy..."

"With all that shooting, I stayed in my room. I just opened up this new store. The finest of ladies things in the world. Go in and take a gander. How was the show last night?"

"It was brief, thanks to the ruckus outside..." she eyed up a little velvet dress, and thought she might come back when she had a little more cash. "So are you still interested in doin' business, cowboy?"

"As long as it doesn't get you into trouble, little darlin'. Why don't you take that velvet dress, as my gratitude. Just keep your eyes and ears open and you won't need to work in the theater any more. You will own it."

Darkpoet smiled, hoping she would accept the offer.

"Why, that's a kind offer. You need to know something... you know where to come. Now tell me, why would a good-lookin' cowboy such as yourself be opening a dress shop in our little town?"

Darkpoet leaned over to Gigi, and whispered.
"Where else, could a cowboy meet pretty women. By owning a womens clothing store. I can get you anything you need."

"I'll bear that in mind," she said, winking. "Although I can't believe you don't meet a lot of pretty women as it is..."

"I'm sort of the shy type. Plus, I'm expanding my horizons. I need an honest way to make a living, don't you think? Now Gigi, what do you know about that femle deputy?"

"Shy, hmmm... As for making an honest living, I'll believe that when I see it. Now, let me see, the deputy... She's new round here, only came into town a few days ago. But," she leaned in closer, " I hear she used to be something of a vigilante. She knows... the other stranger, the one who got shot," Gigi said smoothly, hoping DP believed Kramor was a stranger to her. "Anything else you wanted to know?"

Darkpoet thought for a moment, he didn't want to be to greedy for information.
"No Gigi, not right now. I don't want you to be late for rehersal, now."

Darkpoet handed Gigi five double eagles and the velvet dress in a wrapped package. Darkpoet smiled.

"I hope, I see you again."

"You know where to find me, cowboy." Gigi winked and walked off towards the theatre, feeling his eyes lingering on her as she left.

Darkpoet shook his head, after Gigi left. He started working under the counter. He rigged three shotguns, so all he had to do is pull the triggers. Darkpoet had set the store up, that he could grab a weapon from anywhere in the store. "Where is Viv?" he wondered.

Gigi checked the jail again, but the deputy was nowhere in sight. She left a note saying she would be at the theatre rehearsing, and left.

"Sheriff Brink, I got a message that your *ahem* other deputy wanted to see me... I don't suppose you know what she wanted?"

Loner looked at Aaron. "That didn't work last time, every single time you tried it," she said, "and it's not going to work now."

Tsai said "ooooo" under his breath; and Blue just laughed. "All this time, Aaron! Nothing's changed, has it? Ha!! Just admit it to yourself, my friend -- she STILL isn't interested!" He kept laughing.

Loner turned to Blue and Tsai, shaking her head. "Don't tell me you two haven't broken this eh...charmer of his annoying ways yet," she said.

"We're looking for Cheech," Loner continued, and Tsai jumped. "Cheech!?" he said in amazement.

"The same," said Loner, "though now he goes by the name Darkpoet, and he's just as dangerous as ever, if not more so. He almost killed Kramo last night, and gave me a good hit too before he was done."

"So?" Loner said to Kramo. "How's this for a possible solution? If you're still bent on leaving town, here's a friendly contingent already set up. If not, we can move them in no problem. There should be some others on the way, too, I hope."

"Believe me," said Blue, "We'd all like to get our hands on Cheech."

Loner looked at Kramo. "You look tired," she said. "You just got out of the hospital, you were nearly killed last night." She took his hand. "Why don't you stay here and rest for a while? You can tell me exactly what the history is between you and this Darkpoet, and I'll tell you mine."
