"Hmph, let you run off with the Fist that we all worked so hard to get just so you can leave us to die of starvation, of attack, or if we're lucky, find a city that will likely treat us as common criminals considering our attack on a well guarded and supposedly "Lawful" fortress in the eyes of probably half the denizens?
No, this is not an option. Hell, I don't even know who he is *Points to Rahg'nuul*, and considering his...er, heritage, I highly doubt we'll get along...at least at first."
*clears his throat*
"I have a better idea. We need a place to rest and recuperate without fear of any orc or goblin attackers, right? What about my Monastery? I am the only survivor of that place and I feel I must find a way to restore mine and its honor. Whatever enemy attacked it, I highly doubt it consisted of orcs and goblins, my masters and teachers would not falter so easily to the likes of them.
My goals are to restore this Monastery into what it originally was, therefore I believe using it as a base of operations for me to figure out what happened there and for all of us to figure out the significance of this Fist as well as what we need to do with it and you [melkior] is the best way to start.
The Goblin traitors of Grigg, you may come to the Monastery as well, if we three agree on this location."

"Dwarf, despite my own foul appearance, in time, you will find that I more like your kin than my own. For the most part, I have transcended their cruelties and have been tortured and banished for it, which is why I risk the day-sky today in this state. I have no people and no home. Come with me so I can transact with the ghost-elves. Yes, they are horrible to behold but they speak and act true and they surely have power to safely transport us all to your monastery afterwards. They likely have power to heal as well"
"And consider all that one such I could add to your task. I possess the looks and disposition of the rotten lands around us. And I have learned many skills that you clearly lack. If you prefer to smash your way around, I am sure that you will break many skulls but I am also certain you will also eventually smash into something that ends you, undoubtedly by offending it greatly"
"Likewise, I lack the ability and will to confront directly. And I fear that will become unavoidable in the months to come. So let us travel together and do for the other, what the other cannot. But I will not be bound by your code or any code of the extreme".
[Turns to Azhag]
"Greenskin, you must come with me as well and surrender yourself to the eyes of the ghost-elves. They will reveal your true nature and intent. And if you hold to it..as you have said...then I will travel with you".
[Turns back to Melkior]
"I have no desire to take your 'fist' but will carry it if the others resist. But you must explain its true purpose or tell us of one who knows for certain. I also beg that you tell me how I may find you again"
ToDM: Now would be a great time for you to tell me more about the remaining 2 tomes I recovered from the goblin scribe earlier. Thanks.

Melkior ponders all of this and comes to a consensus. "We shall go to the monastery, however... we shall not use the main road. If we do, it's unavoidable that we would cross paths with an inquisitor, and I fear that even I would have trouble handling such a fierce foe, especially since they would have sent an anti-magic inquisitor to interrogate me."
Melkior begins floating down the mountain-side, but stays at a slow and steady enough pace that the party can follow. "That being the case, we will go meet the "Star Elves" as they been known to call themselves, there we can rest up and get some aid. After that I can teleport us directly outside of your monastery and plan the next course of action and scry the events that unfolded at your monastery."
"In the meantime, it's probably better that you hang onto this.", Melkior says tossing the metal arm armor at Khannon and Khannon catching it, "I can always contact you if I think I've found a suitable owner, where as the opposite will be much more difficult."
Melkior stays spun around and continues floating down the mountain talking to the trio, "Since you are all probably mildly curious, and rightfully so, you probably want to know why I've been trying to summon people and what 'The Fist of Kord', have to do with anything. Well it all began with the Age of Chaos which dawned many years ago. During the Age of Heroes I was once a powerful wizard among many and I was one of the lucky few to survive the onslaught of 'The Forgotten' and the combined forces of all the other races they managed to get under one banner. For most historians this was the first and the last time the forgotten appeared, however I was the most powerful diviner of all of Albion... and I have visions of a different future. Sometime in the future 'the forgotten' shall return, but they will not simply flip the axis of power. The will simply eradicate all existence. I only survived by taking the pact of lichdom in an elvish ceremony. I was granted psuedo-immortality until I can find a way to ensure that 'the forgotten' do not rise again and the fate of global destruction does not come into being."
Melkior sighs and scratches his head, "I think I may have gotten a bit side tracked, but bear with me, I have been devoting the last 5 years of my life searching for a group of champions that may stand a chance of defeating the fallen an thwarting there plans, to aid them I have been looking for ancient artifact of magical power that were once commonplace across the land, which is quiet difficult now in days since the inquisition, the earthly agents of 'the forgotten, have made it one of their prime directives to confiscate these artifacts and if they can't be twisted to fit their dark purpose, destroy them."
Melkior spins back towards the path raising his hands up in the air as the early morning sun begins to rise, "Suddenly rays of hope arrived. Not only did I get visions of a group of heroes that may save this world, but also of secret artifact vaults left by one of my fellow wizards. Back in the age of heroes there was a mighty magi called Mandrake the Magnificent, he was my tutor and he was the greatest sorcerer of all of Albion... if a bit aloof." Melkior let's out a small hollow chuckle before slowly becoming grim in tone, "He did battle with one of the four aspects of the demon god Har'zack... he managed to defeat the being and sealed it's essence off in a pocket dimension far off from this realm... but the cost... the very cost of having fought such creatures led him to go insane. He eventually became known as Mandrake the mad. He eventually disappeared off the face of the earth... that's when I realized that during this time he had been forging weapons, armor & tools, collecting powerful magics and building exotic tools then hiding them across all of Albion so that some day heroes might find them and use them to fight the approaching darkness."
"The 'Fist of Kord' is one of these artifacts, it contains a great power which yet has to be revealed and will only be revealed when the proper time has come."
To Khannon
If you, and your character, truly want to rebuild the monastery as their main goal then you should consider getting the "Leadership" feat at 6th level, this will allow you to begin attracting people to study and learn the ways of your monastery, it will also allow you to use your reputation to good use aside from possibly influencing diplomacy checks. As other added bonuses it will allow you to begin training a cohort to follow in your footsteps and all actions or side-quests undertaken that directly affect to monastery may or may not result in ad-hoc bonuses.

You make a sneaky retreat and manage to avoid suspicion as you leave the house. You return back to your office and see a note slipped under your door.
The note reads,
Dear Mr. Brauer,
The headmaster was hoping you could have those papers written up about the jewelled axe we found at the site. I told him that it's quiet possible that you were really tired when you came back and just needed rest.
But just so you know he did seem really interested in that. Also, I would really like you to consider my offer from earlier since I have nothing but admiration for your skills and knowledge... and just between you and me Loremaster Cid is a royal pain to work with, far too strict.
I'm not supposed to let people know too much about these things before you are even assigned, but I think you'll love this. There's an exhibition being led to an island on the western seashore. As far as the other houses know, it's in order to find a new trade route. We just happen to bump onto an island, and here's the fun thing, supposively their is artifact vault created by Mandrake the Mad himself!
All the best,
Soloman Winter
Putting down the letter you begin looking through the grimoire which appears to be a diary in a set. The diary belongs to Ph'ank Pharaz, eldest member of the Veil family. Much to your dismay the book is written in underdark and you can't make head or tails of it. If you really wanted to know what the tome said you'd need to get a maester, linguist or loremaster to decipher it for you. You also need to think about which ones you can trust with whatever contents the book has. You decide to take a quick rest...
Brauer Drudoc, recharged spells, 7 sp, 5 cp upkeep cost (this accounts for your spell components, guild fees, buying fresh ink, ect.)
Gained 1875 experience points.
You are now at level 2.
If you need help with the level up process just let me know what you need help with.
Khannon and Rahg'nuul again
During this time Azhag is staring at the metallic arm in Khannon's possession. He pulls out a crude book which appears to be made and bound in whatever scraps that could be salvaged in the Orcish fortress, he then begins jotting notes and examining various links of the gauntlet while muttering about "Nordish make", "Mithril metal", and various other elements of the design.
During this time Ragh'nuul, looks over the two other tomes he collected and the letter. First the letter says the following:
Grigg,
I assume you are enjoying your new position at the keep. If you wish to keep the rank you have you'll do what I say precisely. First off, in the surrounding town of Mootschmidt there is possibly one who conspires against us. If my prophecies are correct, this being will be a highly dangerous magic user and will be impervious to your attacks. If there ever was a time to thin out some of the ranks this is it. I suggest weakening him down by having him recklessly cast spells on your weaker troops then capture him with your best. I'll send replacement troops, so don't worry about casualties. Enclosed with this parcel there will be anti-magic cuffs, if you can get one of your soldiers on him he'll be a lot less threatening.
You are to capture him and keep him locked up in one of your cells, I'm send Brother Ha'teel to interrogate him.
Second, there is a small town of shadowvale to the south of here, in due time some drow agents of ours shall be "invading" your land. I want you to use whatever brainless politics the orcs have to keep them distracted from the town and the mountain regions around there... Of course I might have just asked for your troops to perform the assault, but this assault require some finesse, which most of your troops sorely lack.
If you manage to do both of these tasks competently then you may have a promotion in your future, fail me... and the outcasting in the desert shall be a blessing compared to punishment I shall bring.
Inquisitor Gathais
One of the tomes is written as a log for Grigg and the fortress. The log was updated by a Goblin called Hami-ail, you can only assume it's the goblin you killed.
The tome discusses a few elements such as upkeep and supplies inventory.
The most interesting articles can be spotted, one being 2 years ago, with Grigg being given command to the post, who was in control before hand being unknown. Grigg is recorded as being a Black Ork that had been tossed up in the mountains with a group of other unfit Black Ork, having survived the trials of the mountains but still deemed unfit to be a true Oruk he was sent to this fortress as a commander by an inquisitor.
The next few entries discuss how Griggs command was challenged various times, getting especially bad with the prohibition. The previous commander was killed by Grigg which cemented his dominance.
There is a quiet period until recently when 30 some orcs and 50 so goblin soldiers dies in the apprehension of a monster, the monster's book was confiscated and Grigg took great interest. Grigg knew the book would be destroyed by the inquisitor yet felt that it might give him an edge over the rest of the orcish competition and might allow him to increase his domain. So he secretly had Hami-ail, the journal's author, make a copy of the monster's book, which was incredible difficult given the strange language it was written in and the intricate diagrams in the book.
By this time the party has made it to the base of the mountain. Melkior is already floating towards the mountains when he turns around and says "Everyone ready to meet the Star Elves?"

You arrive at the forest and after moving into the thickness of the brush for awhile you become surrounded by light. Within a few moments the party is transported to another plane of existence, in this area you find yourself on the wall walkway of a beautiful castle built on an outcropping of stone at the edge of a roaring waterfall. No, not built on... carved out of an outcropping. The scenery is breath taking to say the least, although you can see Azhag's terror, either from the ridiculous height from the ground, the experience of teleporting or perhaps the glowing wispy form of the star elves.
A female star elf who is with you on the walkway comments, "I hope you enjoy the view. I'm glad to see you back Melkior, and it seems you've brought back a few friends including our hero for hire." She says trying her best to smile. By this time three male star elves also arrive emitting light, as they all do, these elves are wearing robes. If you 3 don't mind you may go with my servants, they shall lead you to your rooms and give you your rewards." She flies over to Melkior, floating on the other side of the wall, which seems to be something she's only able to do, seeing as the other elves walk about. Perhaps it's just a courtesy.
"Melkior, we have much to discuss" the woman says and the two of them drift down the wall pathway. Meanwhile the elves beckon you forward and you follow them around the outer edge of the castle until you reach a tower of stairs which spirals down and brings you towards the interior of the castle, which all appears to be made of marble, that is not so much hewn as grown to form organic open concept shapes, much like a tree that grew into a home. Azhag, is frantically taking notes in his books as his jaw is wide open the entire experience. The elves eventually split off with the three of you and each one brings you to a personal room.
On the way to the room you've noticed that aside from these 4 elves the place seems quiet vacant considering the vast space. The rooms are quite spacious and large, in one end of the room there are marble bed frames with gorgeous purple decor and rich tapestries. The bed overlooks a giant open balcony that overlooks the rushing sea. In each room there is a wide assortment of jewelry, and fine art all over. In the centre of the room there is a giant meal prepared for each of your characters, the meal is that of their favourite choice. At each table their are two chairs, the elf motions for you to take a seat before pulling up the second chair for themselves, they then ask with serious look, "What do you wish for?"
It should be noted that after your wish and meal you may add your new amount of experience to your character. No upkeep, since it's assumed the elves take care of everything you need.

You take the money, write the thesis and head to Soloman's office. You knock on the door and he opens it up wide he seems especially happy when he see you and he motions for you to come in. You do, and before you can say anything he begins skipping around, "OOOOOOOH, the best thing has happenned just recently, you are not going to believe it! It's a secret but I've got to tell someone or I might explode! Okay, catch this, so I was in the library the other day some big wigs were discussing the late magical theories of Melkior the Crystaline, and they were discussing some of the basic gem attuning and applications to soul jarring, and whether said possibilities even exist or are mere legend. I couldn't resist, mentioning an article I had read about Phylacteries and how they could result in a sort of immortality theory... Well they were so dumbfounded, none of them had pieced two and two... well here's the cool part... turns out grand master of Sceptres was there and had overheard, and... I just heard, but it's sooo cool but Emperor Arryn himself overheard the tale from grand master of Sceptres and was interested enough that he might consider becoming my sponsor. Can you believe it?!?" While Solomon is normally over ecstatic about things many might consider trivial you can understand it this time around.
Knowledge (History): 9 + 9= 18
To your basic knowledge, Emperor Arryn is the head of house "Sceptres", but more importantly he's the current emperor of Morderhiem, despite only being the second most popular house with the citizenry.
Part of you wonders how much of this lucky political connection had to do with chance and how much has to do with his already illustrious reputation in the guild as a prodigy in his studies of magic, despite not being able to actually cast magic himself. After congratulating him for a bit, You then create a stupendous tale about how you got the book and ask him to transcribe it for you.
Bluff= 19+0=19
vs.
Sense Motive=17+2=19
Bluff= 3+0=3
vs.
Sense Motive=15+2=17
He just smiles and shakes his head, sure sure... he takes the book and opens it, "Ooh wow, underdark, and quiet a bit of it, quiet an old version if I do say so myself, not at all like the watered down version most of them use now in days. This is going to take me awhile to transcribe... how about I give you the book back with my personal notes and translations in about say 2 hours?"
Bluestorm wrote:"What happened my friend, i was going ask you something then i froze, then i know i stood here for days,why...i know you stayed with me i thank you for that, but have you any idea what happened"

He turns back to look at you, "Want to try staying in here?"

I try to dig a little more about the trip to the island he mention in his letter last night: (gather information 11+1=12) and I ask for the book back as gently and nice as I can without hurting his feelings (diplomacy 14+1=15) I give him a sneak pick of my thesis as compesation. while he reads it I consider which of my fellows "arqueologist" is less open mouthed than Soloman, even if they are a little less nicer than him.

After contemplating the matter a great deal, while picking away at his lavish meal, Rahg'nuul finally raises his head to greet the gaze of his host:
"It seems as though your task has drawn me into grave peril. This was no ordinary prison break...but I knew that when we first met. What I did not anticipate, however, was Melkior's ability to forge loyalty so quickly. I am certain he did not intend it, or spell it upon me, but I cannot turn from him. There is a bond to him that I cannot explain, or deny. Until I can fully understand it, his cause...*your* cause...(hesitates to complete the sentence).
...I wish for an item that will serve me true against the specific powers of The Inquisition, be it for protection or assault. I will leave it up to you to decide what your mighty kingdom can spare. I beg of you to endow it with as much power as your judgment will allow as I am to face impossible odds on your behalf. As you can see, I am quite unfit for the task as it stands.
That is my wish, and I thank you for it".
ToDM: I will submit my LVL 2 character sheet asap. And note: I followed the parameters of the LVL 9 *Wish* spell in terms of answering the question posed. If I interpreted incorrectly, please advise.

Updated my [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/forum-member-rpgs-95/play-by-post-d-and-d-117090.html#post1076880"]Character Sheet[/url]
"My wish is to have my masters Monastery and all its foundation and construction restored to new, so that I may continue the legacy of Dorwick, that is my calling in life.
I must say, you elves seem to be more humble, and respectful than anyone, elf or not, I've met outside the monastery. I feel that maybe I can trust you when I ask this.
Are any of Melkiors intentions or goals evil? Hanging around a Derro, using dark magick to subdue and terrorize foes, at first glance he seems like the type of person I should be fighting, not helping; But his actions say otherwise. Can I trust him?"

Siberys, are you trying to link us to your CS? Because the link just takes me back to pg. 1 of this thread. Just wondering.

If you wait for the full page to load, it should lead you straight down to my character sheet automatically.
EDIT: Missed this post-
I've been planning on that ever since the beginning of the game.
