Hmmm...maybe if you get a new computer you ought to consider getting a high speed connection along with it ! ;)

Hello DW, nice to see you :) How are you doing?

Hello to everybody else too, of course.

Yes, but I am sure it would sound very exotic to my friends... erm... if I had friends...

That would be very nice. I will prepare lassie and scones for the occasion. If you have other culinary requests, please let me know.
Grr, I lost the PM because my browser crashed, I should really learn to write in Word or Notepad instead  Oh well, I'll rewrite it later, especially since I have such a nice welcome to expect :D

I'll teach you are very useful Swedish slang expression:"Det suger fett"

Meaning: It sucks big time.

Why? I thought you made an excellent example. Or are you merly doubting my ability to learn these arcane skills? :(

I am also well...and also still working on my thesis  :D
My original plan to finish it this year proved impossible since our lab was closed for 11 months last year (as compared to the planned 3 months) and the irritating fact that we still have some technical problems. This means I focus on other projects, which is not a waste of time since they will result in nice publications and (hopefully) interesting reseach, but it won't at all improve the speed of my thesis work. AFAIK it's only you and me left now if
thesis-anxiety club - Georgi the little **** has finished hers! ;)

Yes my child, DW provides an excellent role model in the difficult art of replying to the question "How are you". Watch her very, very closely. :D

It's amazing what a deadline can do! :D :p (Anyway, it wasn't really a thesis... only a Bachelors dissertation... are you feeling less hostile yet? ;) )

I know it was a BA, but that doesn't matter - you are still finished whereas I am not  :D Sure there is a lot more work involved in a PhD that a Bachelors, but there is also a proportionally longer time period allowed for the work  ;)

I think I'd do much better if I had a deadline - I did both my BSc:s like you did yours: fast, in the last minute - but on time :D My Msc was hell on earth, I wrote the bloody thing in 3 weeks working 40-50 hours pass with very little sleep in between. Actually it was not my fault it turned out like that (it really wasn't, I promise :D ), I had been working over a year with the project, but when I sent part of my data away for statistical analysis, a huge conflict started between the department I sent it to and the person who originally invented the test in question. The issue had to be solved in court, and I got my data 3 weeks before my assumed defense :( I made it, but I was so tired I hardly remember anything of the occation. However, according to my school mates in the audience, I made a very good defence :D
