well, ur still here and doing a great job!! did anyone ever find a solution to not being able to hit enemies after stat adjustment? i just read through the entire topic again, and didn't find anything definitive. tried lowering all my stats to 10 except for strength so i could wear my armor and weapons, skills only at 20 and i'm hitting more frequently, but still having to click for 5 mins just to kill a puny goblin..lol..
I always thought that Vitality was the culprit, because as it goes up, so does your life force (the first item in the next section below your stats). Once your life force goes over 100, it seems more difficult. You might try not allowing Vitality over 21. During normal gameplay, it goes up by itself. I usually kept it to around 10 initially and never raised it again.
Uh, there is an easier way though. The demon blade of charrus (cheat to get this one) or blast nova which can be bought. Or Catacalysm (cheat to get it).

well, my mage uses mainly spells so, he uses fire nova, ice nova and cataclysm (mostly cataclysm lol) a lot. started a fighter, and raised all the stats except for vit to 70, left vit at 10, which gave me 60 life, and still couldn't hit anything. i was wearing deathlord armor and using the demon blade of charrus. i started him over, fortunately, i saved as soon as i started the char, and only upped str so i could wear my armor and weapons. killin like a madman now..lol. i think it's not any one specific stat, but a combination of all that adjusts the monsters capabilities. why would they make it like that? lol.. even at high levels when your stats would be up that high, you still wouldn't be able to kill anything without those awesome uber-spells..lol.. either way, this game is great. i especially like the cataclysm spell. if there's no monsters around you, you can see explosions off in the distance where monsters are. and in spots like the hidden rooms in ulm dungeon, below the mansion, where monsters respawn in the same location, if the spell is still in effect as the next is spawning, they die too..

Another Problem
Hey, everyone. I haven't posted on this thread for awhile. I have another prob. Remember the error message I posted when I tried to equip an item in the editor? I've been getting that message again, but it has an additional part that reads:
"The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files\Dreamcatcher\Dungeon Lords\save\game08.sav' because it is being used by another process." I've been trying to open the editor to change my char's pos to the Moonbeast Island to buff up again and to try some info out. I usually get this message when I try to put too much stuff in my char's inventory, but this is probably the first time it can't access my savefiles. Usually, if I sell some stuff in-game and save and reload the save file in the editor, it goes away. Not this time, though. I'm at my wit's end. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
*EDIT* I'm still waiting for some help, here. If any of you know how to correct this problem of mine, please make a post or PM me.

You can patch 1.0 or 1.2 all the way to 1.4 (full) bypassing 1.3 (which is included in 1.4).
1.5 is the latest full version from any store. You CANNOT, or should I say DON'T patch 1.5 with a lower version! D U H
Vartugg has to give you the password, and he won't do that untill you get his eye from Voratus.

Shadow ruin help
I made the mistake of leaving the shadow ruins before I was finished and now I cant get back in. Seems I cant use the editor to change my location to inside the ruins, but could I use the editor to undo the quest and then redo it? I'm at a standstill and I am not restarting the entire game.

Steve2d is possibly away somewhere with his regular job. The editor is an iffy thing for getting past the stones. First you have to hex edit your position to beyond them. You do know that this is the last part of the game where you go through Irynthabl maze and continuing on to eventually the Demon Realm.
If you want, use winzip or winrar to shrink the save at the stones, then send it to me and I'll get you past the stones. I only have versions 1.4 and 1.5 installed so you have to be playing either version and be sure to tell me which one.
I'll send you a private message with my email address.

Since I've been stuck without being able to finish the shadow ruins I've been trying different things with the editor. I've found that when I'm inside somewhere such as the tomb of souls there is an address but it just said " 48 " and the coordinates. This leads me to believe that the same can be done for the shadow ruins. Can someone who is in the shadow ruins or can get intot the shadow ruins give me all the coordinates?
Shadow Ruin Coordinates
Can someone give me the coordinates for just inside the Shadow Ruins? I've been stuck for over a week. I logged a lot of coordinates for other places and found that you can go from an outside location to an inside one. For instance I was in Fargrove, logged the coordinates for inside the Arcane Emporium then used the MoonBridge to go to Arindale, saved my game, used the Editor to change the coordinates back to Fargrove and it worked. Also worked for the Temple in Talendor to Fargrove and Arindale.
SO... CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME COORDINATES SO I CAN FINISH THIS GAME.
IF I HAVE TO WAIT MUCH LONGER I'M GOING TO GET AHOLD OF THE CREATORS AND ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK.

Changing locations
Sorry for being away for so many months. Real life got in the way.
For those of you that are having problems with the editor, there is an alternative way to put your character into a location. The technique requires having a save game in that location, and you can insert any saved character at any experience level into the desired save game.
If you have a save game anywhere inside the Shadow Ruins, you can use the character import feature of the Multiplayer LAN mode to put your current character into that save game. You won't lose your experience, skills, or your inventory (except for maybe some special quest items that you didn't have in the save game).
You can use the above technique to repeatedly insert your best character into a prior save game to repeat fights and experience gains, like fighting Ghazbu for 2 million experience points. Instead of selecting "last saved single player character", you would select "last saved multiplayer character" for the subsequent loads.

- Click START GAME.
- The save game should load and your last saved single player character is inserted into the loaded game.
- Press ESC, click SAVE GAME, and save into a NEW slot.
- Quit to main menu.
- Select Single Player.
- Load the new save game that you just saved.

Getting past the stones
It is possible to get into and out of the swamp area (the last quest for the ring of protection) by climbing the mountains. It is very difficult, requires back flipping, and extreme patience. Set your options to easy mode and rare monster encounters to make it less annoying.
You start behind Vartugg's fortress. The mountain is easily climbable with a couple of back flips in strategic locations. After getting to the top, just run along the top all the way to the east and down into the swamp. Then enter the maze and do everything in there (find a walkthru description).
When you free the princess, the tower wizard will appear and he starts talking. If you stay for the duration of his speech, a script will kick in and teleport you away, locking down all of the moonbridges, so you can fight the end game bad guys.
If instead of listening to his speech, you RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN, and leave the map, then the script won't activate and you can use the moonbridges.
Getting out of the swamp is very difficult and takes a lot of time and patience. I've only found one place where I can climb over the mountains to get out. It's at a little stub, kind of looks like Florida on the map, near the stones. Back flipping up is tedious and the camera goes crazy in a couple of places. Just use the mini-map to point yourself in the correct direction and back flip up and along the razor thin ridge. After you get high enough, you should be able to face forward and carefully jump along the ridge to get up to the top of the mountain. Then just run along the mountain top until you can get down the other side and continue the game. I've done it several times, and it really helps to get the ring of protection early in the game.
You could also try importing your character into an earlier save game as described in my earlier post, but you may lose the ring of protection by doing so.
Once you have the ring of protection, you can finish the game at any time by just placing the ring onto its altar. The other wizard appears and gives a little speech, then teleports you to the end game where you will find all of the power artifacts for killing the final boss monster.
Hope this helps.

Invalid Argument?
For some reason the editor will not allow me to load a saved game (I'm playing CE) once I've gone into the Forbidden Lands and completed the Big Bad Mog quest. It gives me the following error.
InvalidArgument = Value of '4' is not
valid for 'SelectedIndex'.
Parameter name: SelectedIndex.
Then it says all of this.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

No, I'm using Windows ME
I had to download Netframework 2.0 when I first got the editor to make it run properly. It works great, up until I do the Big Bad Mog quest. Once I do that it gives me that message when I try loading a game. It'll still load it, but will not save it. So any changes that I might make are not kept.
