The Harem Tent
Bernard takes Darkpoet into the Temple of Ilmater. The priest quickly heals the wounds, but for the poison, he shakes his head sadly.
"This is a very rare poison. It has to run it's course. Why wasn't he brought in yesterday?"
"I just found out about the poison today."
"Hmmm, I see. I'll give an antidote, the rest is up to him."
"Thankee, my lord. I have a safe place for him."
The priest adminsters the antidote, then Bernard takes Darkpoet to a hidden room. Then he makes his way to the Harem tent.
Bernard stops at the entrence to the tent, and calls in.
"Pardon me, is anyone here?"

*Meanwhile Vivien is happily shopping away, careful not to spend too much of the Harem's money. She realizes a robe of the good Archmagi is a bit out of her range, as the only one in the area has already been snapped up by an adventuring party.
She contents herself with a relaxing cup of wine at the "Seas Bounty", as she'd been warned about it's dangerous side. It didn't seem all that dangerous, but the thrill of living on the edge was there*
@Viv: Hmm. I must have low 'Viv's magic' resistance.
Waverly is more amused than irritated at the re-theft of his gold. He walks back to the harem tent and with a stick he found nearby, carefully scrawls a series of runes in the damp earth just outside the door. As he backs up to admire his work, a shadow passes over the tent, chilling the air as clouds blot out the warm afternoon sun. As rain begins to fall inside the tent, a tiny fissure opens up in the earth under the runes. Several tiny daemons pop out. They laugh with glee as they enter the tent and begin to reek havok...

Gwalchmai opened the tent flap, "Bernard! Aren't you a little far from the 'Coronet?"
"Yes, um, I was just taking care of a bit 'o bidnes..."
"Have you seen Darkpoet? I suspect he's been in your fighting pit."
"Yeah, he was there. He was poisoned, too. Nasty stuff."
"Figures. Jerk."
"I took him ta th' temple, they did their best, but it doesn't look good. He's restin' here in Trademeet in a spare room in th' house of one of th' "Founding" Families."
"Thanks. I'll tell the Mistresses. Perhaps this Curez-All potion I found might help."
"Oh, erm, I was hoping ta see... uh, talk ta th' Ladies of the Harem meself," Bernard said, craning his neck to look in the tent.
"Sorry. They are... occupied, if you know what I mean. Look out for those little demons" Gwalchmai said stamping on a few like so many ****roaches. Closing the door he began funneling the rain water into barrels. "Rainwater is perfect to help keep the Ladies' hair soft, shiny and radiant" he thought to himself.

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
The daemons scatter at the slave's attempts to squash them. For each one flattened to a bloody puddle of jelly, two more are juggling with the breakables or overturning a butter churn. They laugh hysterically each time something is broken, their broad smiles and large eyes looking jovial were it not for the sharply pointed teeth.
Two of them sneak up behind the slave and steal his pants. They run off in different directions tearing the garment in half. Another is pooring lye into one of Anomen's many liquor bottles.

Dragon Wench glances at her Harem sisters, the still recovering Anomen and the trouserless slave. Clearing her throat she suggests that Gwalchmai might wish to borrow a robe until something can be done about his missing garment.
After a moment of thought, she says, "You know, Anomen has been spending a lot of time at the Copper Coronet, perhaps if we installed ourselves at the bar we might find a few answers.

Before anyone noticed that he was the cause of the ruckus, Waverly slipped off to the the CC to have a few drinks.
Within the hour he could be found entertaining a table full of travelers, bar wenches, and riff raff with his tales of faraway places. His guest were amazed at the generosity with which he bought round after round, and never noticed he did so with coins pilfered from their own pockets.

And even when the pockets were tight, Waverly could still perform for coppers. His famous "pelican dance" was known throughout the realms for its wildly flailing arm movements and downright stupid facial expressions. Ever a crowd pleaser, it did tend to frighten the barmaids.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his pants for his friends."

Dragon Wench looked up and realised that Loner was talking to her. Forcing herself to a more alert frame of mind, she struggled to recollect what Loner had said. Mercifully this did not take long. "Yes, she replied, you are right, we should wait until Georgi has completed Anomen's interrogation."
Mentally returning to the tent sharply reminded her of the mysterious circumstances in which they now found themselves, and she pondered upon their meaning. She wondered again about the menacing presence of the "good" doctor. What could he posssibly want with them, and what on earth was he doing conspiring with orcs and ogres?
Sighing, and trying to suppress the fears gnawing within her, she turned to Loner and asked her opinion on the matter.

Grunt: ROFL!!
*Vivien realizes she needs to soon head back to the tent, but first (out of politeness sake of course!) lets several lovely young men buy her drinks. The room begins to spin slightly, but it's a pleasant sort of spin, and she finds the tales of her current shadow thief companions most enjoyable. Alas for her the bar soon closes, and she finds herself and those same companions seeking livelier pubs. They come upon the Copper Coronet, and while her companions buy a few rounds her eyes fall on Waverly.
"You!" She says advancing on him with a smile.
She soon has the table captivated as she tells tale after tale of his ill deeds, and sure enough upon pocket checking her words of theft ring true. She leaves the good Doc trying to sweet talk his way out of several suspicious serving girls 'black lists'.*

The demons dealt with, Lady Georgi advanced upon Anomen once again.
"Now, where were we... Oh! That's right! You were about to tell us exactly what's been going on..."
The other Ladies closed in round Anomen. He was surrounded. Sighing, he put a hand to his head, still throbbing from the last night's wine, and began to speak...

Who, me?!?
"Ogres, orcs, and the Doc, oh my..."
"Well, DW, I had thought that the good Doctor was merely jealous -- attempting to discredit our knight in order to oust him and thus replace him in our favor. But now I'm not so sure. Could his agenda perhaps be even larger, considering his dealings with the monsters you mention? I suggest that once Anomen here tells us his side, we head to the Copper Coronet immediately..."

Anomen's interrogation continued without mercy. Cowering in the corner, as he gazed at the angry faces around, he tried to explain that he had not intended any harm. Begging for forgiveness, he told the Harem that although he loved spending time in their alluring company, he occasionally missed the company of fellow males, so that when Waverly came along, showering equal dozes of friendship and wine he saw little reason to resist the good Doctor's charms (at this confession Dragon Wench wondered if Anomen would enjoy the company of a certain ranger). What was most perplexing to Anomen was the peculiar effect the Doctor's wine seemed to have on him. Not only did it appear to have compellingly addictative qualities, but it also made him lose all control of his actions while under it's influence. As Anomen's tale progressed, the ladies of the Harem could barely suppress their disbelief..................
