Hell, if Tybs is going to go for NASCAR then choose what you want...I'm rather split as to whether to go with "noone will ever get this" or general knowledge, so if you don't mind BS, I'd prefer to pick two: if we're going with obscure knowledge, I'll take a Radiohead category (which I'd prefer out of sheer bloody-mindedness ;) ), but if we're all going to play ball and be kind to our fellow-SYMian, I'll have Astronomy. We need to make a decision...

Well I can change my topic if everyone is angry at seeing it up there. :D But I think NASCAR is a broad enough subject and is known world-wide. So its also fair. Just my POV. If you dont watch NASCAR, well I guess thats your fault then... :p ;) Its damn entertaining. :D

Fair enough...Radiohead it is. There's a nice broad category, and plenty of people know about it. I probably know more about NASCAR though...left! left! Quick, turn left! Just a smidge left...a little bit more...now take a left! Gawd...it couldn't have cost that much more to get cars with steering wheels that go both ways, could it? :D And yes, I know there are two road circuits where they specially equip the cars to go both ways :p , but it's still boring as hell. My many discussions about this in the States, however, have left me with a decent knowledge of the sport. Bring it on!

Unfortunetly, Z, only the top 5 currently in the game get to chose the topics, though your topics do look good. Nice and broad.... Especially Video Games...that could be a very good catagory...

@Kam. Fair enough. People say bad things about the sport a lot, but thats probably because they dont know enough about the other aspects. One thing shouldnt be judged if you only have a slight knowledge of it. To rightfully criticize a topic, you got to be fully educated on it. For instance I could say Radiohead is craptastic, but Ive only heard 1 or 2 songs by them, so I cannot judge for certain. For basketball its the same situation. I look at it as a slow paced game where people go back and forth on a court shooting a ball into a bucket. But theres probably more to it. I just havent explored it. :D Just a bit of my views on Judging 101. :D

@All....It matters little to me either way. I look at it this way, I am in the clear as to what catagories are chosen. I can just sit back and watch the fireworks fly.

I will say this, remember, everyone will know waht you pick, and may "tailor" their own choices to you :D

*Grabs a beer and settles back to watch*

Nice wide selection...a bit male-orientated, though. NASCAR is much better on that front :D

Erm.....Well....if you want a female-oriented thing that would basically screw all the guys up, you could choose Barbie Dolls as a catagory...... :D

Indeed...you know, I don't really mind watching NASCAR all that much - I just don't enjoy it. I know how skilful those guys have to be to race well on severely banked tracks, but given the choice I would much rather watch Formula 1...and there's another sport which a lot of people criticise. I don't know, I love watching Michael Schumacher wax everyone's butts, but many people see it as boring. I totally get your point. Oh, and you should really listen to some more Radiohead - at least an album. Go get/borrow The Bends, you could well be very surprised. There is a huge difference between their early stuff and the albums they have recently released...personally I love them both, but it could be that the guitar-driven tunes get you into them.

@Z - not at all, all I'd just go in my cupboard and have a look at my coll...naver mind  ;)

Ah good. As long as you appreciate it. I dont like how some people say that they arent busting their butts in the cars, cause they are. Its exausting, and draining. It get exciting when youre a fan of a certain driver and you watch their laps. It sucks when that driver wrecks out of a race or something. Thats when I sigh and move on to another channel unless the race up front is exciting too. As far as Formula 1-there are a couple reasons why I dont follow it as closely.
1) It isnt aired live over here
2) The times they do air it its during strange hours...
3) Michael Schumacher dominates too much. I like to see a little more parity. But he truly is skilled
4) The competition up front isnt very much. You dont see a whole lot of passing up front

Yeah, I should listen to a couple more songs. I wont argue with you.

Well Double Jeopardy starts when BS has the questions ready. The game itself is available to everyone, the way I understand it.

I presume it also has to wait until everyone has picked a topic...is it just you and me so far Tybs? Or have the others been sneaky and PMed BS so that we can't research the topics beforehand...that would be slightly unfair :D
